It's so true. And I understand that it's all about marketing and money, and framing everything as a competition sells, but it's so frustrating because you're right; the same competitive standards aren't applied to men to the same extent. There's space in the industry for more than one girl group, more than one female rapper etc and we're just supposed to sit here and pretend that there isn't.

Agree the Little Mix Xfactor journey is quite incredible both in how the story unfolded and the performances too. I was stunned by their rendition of En Vogue's "Don't Let Go" and that was when I knew they were going to win it.

I totally agree. There are so many interviewers and people trying to pit them against each other. The entertainment industry as a whole like to place roles and pit women against each other. There can be 500 male rappers that sound all the same but they can all be successful, yet apparently there is only room on top for one female rapper and there's got to be bad blood between any other female rappers trying to make it. Same with girl group, they always try to make one the leader rather then letting everyone shine on their own.

The thing about female singers not writing their own songs is definitely a belief some people have. It’s ridiculous but I have seen it. It happens a lot when there are multiple songwriters on a song. People will question if the singer wrote any of it or if it’s in their contract to get a writing credit even if they didn’t. That actually happened to Taylor Swift a lot early in her career to the point that she wrote the entire Speak Now album by herself to prove that she was writing her own songs the whole time.

I just had 3 exams this week, the last one being today and i open my patreon to see u posted a LM video couldn't have ended the night with a better duo! I absolutely love ur reactions, as u must know by now. So thank you for this update, perfect timing. I remember in one of ur earlier videos u had mentioned that this was on ur to do list for the girls. So i hadnt see this fan made video yet and even tho it kept showing up on my youtube suggestions i wanted to wait so i can watch it with you. And im really glad i did. U are such a kind and amazing soul. We really need more people like u. And im supper happy u got recognized by Jade herself that is amzing congrats on that btw!! I am also sorry to hear about ur Anxiety, i am actually in medical school so i have dealt with a few people who have anxiety and also learned about it and it can be really scary. You literally feel like ur having a heart attack. I mind is a powerful thing... I hope you are doing better and keep woking on urself. Mental health is one of the most important things in life. And i really think with each generation people are becoming more and more aware of how serious of a thing it can be and how important it is to work on it. I dont think people realize how strong you have to be to overcome your own mind. So to all those people who think they are weak for having mental issues, no ur wrong, its the opposite you are stronger than u urself realize. It takes a certain kind of strength and courage to accept that 1 something isn't okay, and 2 open up about it an 3 want to get help and get better. So don't ever be ashamed or feel weak for any of it. ♥️ As for the girls, i mean we all love them because they are just so un-apologetically themselves and its refreshing to see celebs be open and not fake. Them opening up about their own struggles either before xfactor and fame or after, im sure has helped so many of their fans. And that to me is incredible. They are born entertainers that are just such amazing role models to not just younger kids but also anyone that needs a little confidence boost. I for one personally have them to thank for starling to love myself properly, and their music makes me feel good no matter what mood im in. I know i can always count on LM to lift my mood lol!

And responding, LM5 was the last of them with Syco and it was more or less where they fought to keep the songs the way they were and then the record company changed, and that's when the best album of them suffered the big boycott, because basically they didn't do much to promote and had problems even with the tour (cancellation of the part that would be in australia and nz).

thank you for this video and for continuing to be genuine in everything you do in relation to them, and I believe that jade notice is a way for the universe to show you that you are on the right path, forever grateful! I believe that at the moment when we are all learning to deal more with things from another perspective, and we are dealing with our own problems and figuring out how to take care of things, it is too important to remember that the famous are also human beings and are affected by intolerance and hate. and how best to keep mental health conversations active and how much we need to listen to others and learn.

That one clip where they had fans choose a fav member of the band was set up to make one of the girls feel left out; they pull three fans, but there are four members in the group! It always makes me mad when I see that because if that had pulled a fourth fan that might have been avoided. I just feel like the industry has always tried to pit the girls against each other, which is why it's been so encouraging to see that the girls have combated that by pulling together. I think re: writing music, the stigma applies to pop music in general, and female pop artists and groups more heavily than the men. I think it's because pop music just gets a bad rap for being formulaic, and of course, people will rip on women for anything they can. Very excited for you to do the Apple Music show and One Love Manchester set, as well as getting into the music videos! You spoil the fandom with your content <3 Great reaction as always, Michael!

Radio show hosts and other public figures, especially the men can be insecure and jealous and express this self hatred by trying to find fault and scandal in others to try and take them down, it is a kind of bullying as well but unfortunately seems to be part of their job, which says a lot about their employers and some of the viewers who are also looking for that sort of thing, the same reason people read and believe in tabloids.

So must watch their Wings performance at One Love Manchester this was what turned me into an LM fan it was love at 1st listen. They totally changed the mood of the crowd that night, it was incredible to watch, just one song and it went from mourning to inspiring and celebrating and showing that they will not be intimidated. But of course some in the mainstream (likely conservative) media do the usual crap about only talking about their clothes and enforcing the same kind of chauvinism that the terrorists represented except they use words and publicity instead of bombs to deal the damage. Yes and Piers Morgan is one of those "guys".

BTW a lot of the radio stations in the US are owned by the Sinclair group who are very conservative republicans and Trump supporters who are very much against female empowerment, and I think this is one of the reasons LM isn't getting the radio play the deserve, especially after their break with Simon and SYCO. When media is owned by someone like this hard to break into the US radiowaves.

I think part of the reason Leigh-Anne feels invisible when fans talk about their favorite LM members or when out in public in front of fans is less about the overtly hateful and violent racism we have in the US, but due to the nature and demographics of their fans, many of whom strongly identify with their idols (they don't just aspire to be LM, they literally are LM). You often identify with what you are most familiar with, so if you are white you are likely to identify more strongly with someone else who is also white. It is more like an unconscious bias which we are all often guilty of. Although I don't think it is malicious for the most part, but I understand how much it will hurt Leigh-Anne, who is actually more of an introvert despite loving to sing and perform. That is why we should love them all and love them more, they all deserve this love because WE deserve it..
