2024-12-05 09:15:39 +0000 UTCThis has been lovely to watch your journey through these albums! I *hear* you on How To Get The Girl! I agree a bit, but the moment in This Love where she mentions kissing cheeks and when you're young you run but come back to what you need... it really soothes that to me, like a ten years later moment! This whole album is amazing and I have been going chronologically but I look forward to your reactions to the vault songs for 1989 Taylor's Version! Re: your question about are there songs you don't like-- there were 2 songs I thought were meh on Folklore and then I watched Long Pond and realized they were 2 of the most powerful metaphors on the album. Every time I 'don't like something' I didn't connect with the lyrics I didn't really listen hard enough! (Mirrorball and Epiphany)

2023-12-14 16:31:31 +0000 UTCLate to the game but I have thoroughly enjoyed watching you experience Taylor for the first time. Highlight was definitely watching someone else have the same reaction as I did to Wildest Dreams, that was really dope. Looking forward to Red next!

2023-09-29 04:40:55 +0000 UTCI’ve been binge watching all of your taylor videos for the past two days. I love your calming presence during everything

2023-08-26 18:58:09 +0000 UTCYou're in desperate need of the Grammy Museum version of How You Get The Girl! It changes the whole song (in a great way)

2023-06-10 04:07:53 +0000 UTCI’m loving that you’re calling her albums Eras and the the next tour is the “Eras” tour!! You were thinking like Blondie!

2022-10-15 03:06:01 +0000 UTCI’m watching this video eons later, and I’m not sure if you get notifs for all of your comments so you may never see this. But I just went through all these comments to check if anyone answered your ONE question at the end and I don’t think anyone did out of all these comments hahaha!! New Romantics was infact a single! It didn’t get near the hype of her other singles, maybe due to the fact that it was released later because it was deluxe? I’m not sure since I’m a newer fan as well, but it was a single, and it’s definitely possible you heard it on the radio!

2022-07-13 22:52:56 +0000 UTC1989 > Evermore > Fearless > Speak Now > Reputation > Lover > Red > Folklore > Self-Titled

2022-06-03 02:51:50 +0000 UTCAgree to disagree, Lover is so underrated and unappreciated! People just love to hate on happy songs
Bangtan is life
2022-03-14 15:48:21 +0000 UTCCan’t say I agree because I love stay stay stay and especially jump then fall! It’s not about wether a song is bad or not it’s all about perspective and preference if you ask me
Bangtan is life
2022-03-14 15:46:26 +0000 UTC1989 was my favorite album for years.. and then Folklore came out lol

2022-03-14 15:44:00 +0000 UTCWonderland - "cheshire cat smile" when HS is from Cheshire, England + all the green eyes references. It would've be fun if he could've been the one ;) ;my two favorite artists being in love... mannnnn. But i'm happy for Ms. Taylor and Joe.

2022-02-26 07:55:38 +0000 UTCI know many people don't like this idea, but it really feels like this album follows their relationship with Harry (with some exeptions of course like Welcome to New York, Blank space, Bad Blood) there are way too many conections between songs.
Didi
2021-11-17 18:06:37 +0000 UTCI know I am late to this one - but I would recommend Ryan Adams cover of How You Get The Girl. It helps strip some of that "high school" vibe.

2021-11-15 03:10:16 +0000 UTCHoping that you also heard the voice notes for this album! There are three voice notes included on the Deluxe version that describes her songwriting process for the three songs on this album.

2021-11-04 00:05:45 +0000 UTCThe same noise from the end of I know places also starts the song off. At first i thought it sounded like a match being lit, but now definitely sounds more like a tape recorder. This video actually opened my eyes to this albums whole story. I never really liked how you get the girl either, until watching this and hearing it all together as a whole. I think this song definitely makes sense on the album and in its placement. The whole album is about Harry Styles and their on again off again relationship. So you have all you had to do was stay, Which is about the relationship ending. “ people like me are gone forever when you say goodbye” well obviously not the case with him, cuz then she gives us I wish you would, about how she doesn’t care what he did anymore, she just wants him to come back around. And then wildest dreams, looks like they are back on speaking terms, but seems to get A little rocky. They are scared, keeping it a secret. And then she gives us how you get the girl. To me, it seems that she’s like “ hey it seems like u want to be with me but your not saying anything. This is all you gotta do, that’s how you get the girl.” And then the end “that’s how you got the girl”. And then she gives us this love… this love is alive back from the dead. These hands had to let it go free and this love came back to me.

2021-10-29 16:30:09 +0000 UTCvery true, thank you!

2021-07-06 02:46:18 +0000 UTCOk, it's hard for me to scroll through all the comments so I'm SO sorry if I'm repeating someone, but there's a theory for the sound at the end of I Know Places. The sound is a tape recorder or video recorder or something clicking off, just to start. One of the major problems in her and Harry's relationship was the media not giving them any space because they were all over Taylor at that point. So the whole song she's singing about knowing places where they can go and get away from everything and they can make it work, and then at the end you hear the recorder clicking off almost implying that they had been being secretly recorded that whole time. So the whole time they thought they were keeping ahead of the media and ahead of the problems it was causing for them, they were actually totally the opposite, they just didn't know it yet.
Kelsea
2021-06-29 03:12:18 +0000 UTCIn case no one has told you in the comments yet, Blank Space is a satirical play on how the media portrayed her. It's not serious. Just wait until you see the music video!

2021-06-29 01:21:25 +0000 UTCI’ve never known a single person to think jump then fall is annoying and I’m totally surprised to see that here. I think universally stay stay stay is the weakest on red but jump then fall is crazy good. It isnt at all confusing either. I’m curious as to what about it is annoying. A lot of older swifties I know who believe fearless is her best have jump then fall in their holy trinity.
Monica Torres
2021-06-27 21:33:52 +0000 UTCI’ve noticed a huge population of swifties choose 1989, Red or Reputation as their favorites but I personally prefer the lyricism in Speak Now and Evermore best. I feel like they’re her strongest lyrically! And I’m more of a lyric person than sound. I think maybe if I had a full version of acoustic 1989 I’d enjoy the album more. But to me there are more skips on this album than any other. I much prefer the sound in reputation but I also wish I had that entire album acoustically bc the love songs are just so beautiful I’d love them all stripped down.
Monica Torres
2021-06-27 21:29:42 +0000 UTCI agree with your breakdown of the songs, but this is actually my favorite Taylor Swift album. You are very detailed and I loved that!

2021-06-27 18:56:08 +0000 UTCJust got to the WIldest Dreams part and your reaction is pure joy. Its wonderful to get to witness it.

2021-06-26 09:48:49 +0000 UTCMy favorite 1989 meme is that the entire album is just Taylor calling Harry out for being a bad driver. Bc yes most of the album is about him. I was surprised that you didn’t catch the necklace/ paper airplane reference as Harry wore the paper airplane necklace and Taylor was spotted wearing it when they were together. The ootw accident referenced the snowmobile accident they got into and he ended up needing stitches. And you nailed the meaning of the chorus exactly. She said this was about being hopeful about a relationship that’s always on shaky ground and just wanting it to finally be consistent and stable. Kendrick Lamar is on the remix/is in the music video for bad blood. This song was widely speculated to be about Katy Perry. Taylor referenced writing this song about a girl who never was sure she was really friends with because the girl always seemed to be passive aggressive towards her. And Katy ended up both dating John mayor and stealing Taylor’s dancers from under her right before tour. Speaking of heart palpitations Taylor’s heartbeat is featured in wildest dreams. This is supposedly another song about Harry. It’s theorized that I know places was about paparazzi trying to chase her and Harry. This also ties into lyrics from wildest dreams. “I know places we can hide...”/ “let’s get out of this town...away from the crowds.” If you pay attention to the lyric “so it goes, you and I are dancing in a snow globe round and round.” In you are in love inspired the music video for the song Lover. The song you are in love was also written about her friend producer Jack Antonoff and his then girlfriend Lena Dunham. Jack worked with her on most of this album. I feel like wonderland ties into I know places as well with meanings. In I know places they’re running from prying eyes and in wonderland people are no longer just watching, but they’re starting to talk. In both songs she referenced green eyes as well. “I could build a castle out of all the bricks they threw at me.” Is an insane lyric considering all the shit that would come for her after this album and it’s honestly one of my favorite Taylor lyrics of all time. All in all this is my least favorite Taylor album, it’s fine but I’m not into the generic pop sound that carries through most of it. There are standouts but isn’t super special IMO. It’s also from my perspective her weakest lyrically, but I understood more importantly her goal was to go mainstream and she admitted she wrote this album to win awards bc Red was snubbed. I understand 1989 inspired an entire pop culture movement but to me it’s just okay compared to the rest of her work as a whole.
Monica Torres
2021-06-23 19:32:45 +0000 UTCShe wrote it for Jack Antonoff and Lena Dunham

2021-03-06 05:05:27 +0000 UTCi'm sure someone somewhere has mention this, but there's the album version of bad blood and the single version that has kendrick lamar and doesn't include the versus of the album version
Amanda Burns
2021-02-26 03:53:50 +0000 UTCAlso same with deluxe versions — her deluxe for this album isn’t available on vinyl 🙄 which is a shame bc they would be amazing on vinyl
Virginia
2021-02-18 00:46:59 +0000 UTCI don’t think anyone else has commented on this and I’m not 100% sure if this is right but at the end of I Know Places it sounds like a tape recorder or other recorder shutting off. I always took this as someone ease-dropping and recording what she was saying which is kinda a juxtaposition to the song about her knowing places they could get away. Like even though she thought her places were safe they really aren’t.
Virginia
2021-02-18 00:27:18 +0000 UTCStarbucks lovers bahahahhah. That was something everyone thought she was saying when that song first came out. Made me giggle.
Ariana Moskwa
2021-02-16 02:33:25 +0000 UTC“This Love” is my favorite song on this album. Ranking of albums would likely be Folklore, Evermore, 1989, Reputation, Fearless.

Katie Polich
2021-02-12 11:00:39 +0000 UTCone of the greatest album of our generation. deserves all the grammys it won. everyone doubted her when she wanted to take a leap and fully divert from country, and then she slapped them in the face with this masterpiece. she is truly a legend. thank you for reacting to this album - it made me remember how iconic all of the songs were. in clean, when she said “when the butterflies turned to dust, they covered my whole room / so i punched a hole in the roof” — the symbolism was so unreal. after a relationship ends, you don’t have butterflies anymore it becomes memories and she felt suffocated by them that she let herself out the only way she knew how. the song really compares love as an addiction and just because you’re clean/sober (moved on from it) doesn’t mean you don’t miss them from time to time. taylor has always been a great lyricist/poet but she outdid herself in this album which is why it’s at the top out of all of her albums for me.

2021-02-12 07:23:36 +0000 UTCI have been living for your Taylor reactions and considering becoming a Patreon for a while, and the thing that did it was seeing this blocked over and again by YouTube! So here I am, and thank you for all this content 😍
Kate Walsh
2021-02-11 07:10:21 +0000 UTCFinally joined your Patreon (been following on YouTube for a bit) and spent the majority of my day watching your most recent TSwift videos, and it is a TREAT to have these in my life, so thank you! It is so fun watching you experience her albums, documentary, etc., for the first time - feels like it’s the first time for me even though I’ve listened to / watched everything a million times. I appreciate how much you appreciate her!! Also - are you SURE you haven’t seen the Out of the Woods music video lol, it’s uncanny how close the visuals you described are to the real thing, can’t wait for the next vids! Reputation tour will change your life!!
Olivia Carney
2021-02-08 21:59:04 +0000 UTCLoved your reaction!! I love that you focus so much on the lyrical and songwriting content since she is a genius with that! I really loved watching on Youtube the behind the music with Reputation and the most recent interview with apple for her winning songwriter of the year and hearing her just talk about songwriting for an hour - really got more in touch with how she approaches her music more recently!

2021-02-07 14:57:38 +0000 UTCAlso the Out of the Woods music video will change your life... You narrated a fraction but her BRAIN IS SO BIG and the visuals for 1989 as is were top tier but my baby got the treatment...ok Style might be better but OOTW and Blank Space wedge tight for 2nd and 3rd lolz

2021-02-07 14:46:36 +0000 UTCHer one and only problematic song to date is called ''Better than revenge'' on the Speak Now album which was her selfwritten album upat age 19, until the diluxe tracks.

2021-02-07 13:01:25 +0000 UTC“Got a lonely Starbucks lover.” What’s funny about this is that you are not the only one who heard it. In fact it was a very popular meme when this song came out.

2021-02-07 11:05:56 +0000 UTCThats cool that you pictured Taylor running in the woods because thats what she does actually do for part of out of the woods music video
Sarah Renshaw
2021-02-07 07:55:26 +0000 UTCPersonally, 1989 was her most cohesive album until she released Folklore, but I personally love her deep cuts, so I'd say still go with Folklore > RED > Speak Now > Fearless > 1989 (I'm still thinking where to put Evermore because I haven't listened to it enough to decide yet). But I really can't wait to watch you discovering the lyric masterpiece that Red is
Giu Bressani
2021-02-07 05:52:21 +0000 UTCI don't know your preference for country music but Carrie Underwood is an amazing story teller. She has a whole Storyteller album I would love for you to check out!

2021-02-06 23:21:39 +0000 UTCJust wait till you listen to 'All Too Well' it's the #1 most favorite song by the majority of the swifties because of the lyrics and her way of storytelling. don't worry about reaction video length. the longer, the better, haha! my ranking of Taylor is: 1. reputation 2. folklore 3. Speak Now 4. 1989 5. evermore 6. Red 7. Fearless 8. Debut 9. Lover Lover is last because there are too many filler songs on that album, like ME!, You Need To Calm Down, It's Nice To Have A Friend etc. except Cornelia Street, Death By A Thousand Cuts, Soon You'll Get Better,Miss Americana, Afterglow and Daylight I don't like any of the other songs. I can't wait for the re-recordings because I wanna hear how her vocals will impact the first 3 albums. because on the first 3 albums, she has very childish like vocals. and Taylor said it herself recently. that it is a bit weird to hear how young-like her vocals were back then. there is so much Taylor content to react to that i'm glad you enjoy it and it's so fun to watch you react to it, because of your input. after the reputation tour reaction I think reacting to "Making Of A Song" is a MUST! because Taylor filmed herself making the reputation album. whether it's her writing process and her in the studio bringing the song to life. it's so cool to see her at her job. it's a must! Btw Michael, since you love Zayn, you know Taylor and Zayn did a collab song together, right?! it's called "I Don't Wanna Live Forever' and there is a music video for it as well. and Taylor performed this song live a couple of times on her shows.
Tal
2021-02-06 22:05:02 +0000 UTCOut Of The Woods 1989 tour and Out Of The Woods acoustic grammy museum live are also so so good

2021-02-06 21:21:36 +0000 UTCMy ranking: Red > evermore > folklore > 1989 > reputation > Speak Now > Lover > Fearless > Debut

2021-02-06 17:51:37 +0000 UTCohmygod you have to watch the 1989 music videos especially OUT OF THE WOODS because you're so on point
sai
2021-02-06 16:30:52 +0000 UTCthe way i screamed when you said starbucks lovers lmao thats how everyone reacted when this song first came out too. btw my favorite album of hers is RED (the one before this) although evermore is right up there too.

2021-02-06 16:17:28 +0000 UTCI just joined your patreon and I'm so glad I did. Happy to see a newfound swiftie in our family. Your reactions are amazing, I like how insightful and engaged you are in the music and lyrics. I think it's impossible to say which album of Taylor is the best and eventually it comes to the ones you connect to the most. I'm glad you've picked up on the fact that every Taylor's era is completely different. You can see it not only on the albums and how different each one is, but the tours are also thematic and you can never mistake from which era is the performance you watch. She's not only a great singer and songwriter, she is a true artist and a performer and she has a vision for everything. You will see it when you watch the tour movies. You've embarked on a beautiful journey and I'm so here for it. For me the best album must be Reputation, this comeback and era was so iconic that I cannot choose differently (embracing being called a snake, bad bi*ch attitude, again ICONIC). From Rep I think it is Folklore/Evermore, Speak Now, 1989, Lover, Red, Fearless, Debut.
Joanna Kowal
2021-02-06 14:21:59 +0000 UTCMy ranking would be folklore > red = evermore > speak now > lover > reputation > 1989 >fearless > debut. I love 1989 but I also think with that album she focused too much on doing the perfect pop album and personaly i prefer when she forgets about that stuff and just writes what it's in her heart like with folklore or evermore. but at the same time i dont think she would be as big as she is without 1989. she needed that kind of universal pop album to get to the top and stay there no matter what. even if it's not one of my favorites i still love it and it makes me really happy as everything she does <3
Maite Román
2021-02-06 13:55:09 +0000 UTCalso its really hard to pick a favorite on this album but i think for me its wildest dreams (style is a reallyyy close second haha) so im really glad you loved it too. this was just such an iconic era for her and you honestly picked up on so many things and i loved watching your reaction because it was like i was listening to it for the first time by hearing your perspective on it lol.

2021-02-06 08:42:44 +0000 UTComg i was so excited to watch ur reaction to 1989 and im sooo glad you love it! 1989 is literally my favorite album of all time and it has such a special place in my heart because it was the first album from taylor swift that i listened to all the way through. its hard for me to rank taylor swift albums but i have to say my top three are 1989, red, and folklore/evermore.

2021-02-06 08:08:53 +0000 UTCI have been waiting for this! 1989 was my first Taylor Swift album; I was obsessed with Out of the Woods. And now the whole thing is a repeat for me. I particularly love OOTW, I Wish You Would, All You Had to Do Was Stay, and You're in Love... But they are all pretty stellar. It was and is a solid album. Def a timeless classic.
Hunter Kuehn
2021-02-06 06:59:18 +0000 UTCI'm really waiting for you to listen to RED and here All Too Well it's always ranked as her best song and has been ranked as the best song of the last decade on alot of end of the decade lists. RED is also tops 1989 in a lot of lists for essential Taylor albums that are just perfection. You had no idea what your instore with RED. I'm excited for you to get to Red/Speak Now/Fearless. Her country era was just as good as her pop era's she was just a teenager with those albums. My ranking so far reputation > lover > folklore > speak now = red > 1989 = fearless > self titled. Taylor doesn't have a bad song but she def has her weak songs. There is Stay Stay Stay and Jump then fall. they are cute but a lot like how you get the girl and you just get so confused because it's catchy and cute but annoying (trust me everyone feels that way)
Samantha
2021-02-06 05:50:49 +0000 UTCI also completely agree about how you get the girl

2021-02-06 05:17:34 +0000 UTCYou gotta watch the Bad Blood music video it has the Kendrick Lamar version you’re thinking of and has so many epic cameos!

2021-02-06 04:43:18 +0000 UTCRemember when you hit the brakes to soon, 20 stitches in a hospital room... Taylor and Harry were snowmobiling in Utah and he crashed the snow mobile and got thrown. I believe he was the one who got stitches.

2021-02-06 04:29:42 +0000 UTCranking: 1. Evermore 2. Folklore 3. Reputation 4. Red 5. Speak Now 6. 1989 7. Lover 8. Fearless 9. Taylor Swift

2021-02-06 03:45:09 +0000 UTCI have loved her for years and I am so happy that people are finally giving her the respect that she deserves. Her albums are the only ones that I will listen to in full as soon as they come out. Thank you for recognizing her!

2021-02-06 02:22:05 +0000 UTCalsoooo 1. red 2. reputation 3. folklore 4. fearless 5. evermore 6. speak now 7. 1989 8. lover 9. debut honestly it breaks my heart to put anything as the last three because those are still incredible albums but just have more skips for me or less emotional attachment
grace
2021-02-06 02:16:35 +0000 UTCit's hard to believe this was her first pop album! yes new romantics was a single lol a song that comes to mind when you talk about blaming the other person instead of taking accountability is "better than revenge" from speak now, there's a reason taylor doesn't perform that song anymore it's kinda slut shamey and blaming the other woman and i honestly wonder if she'll majorly change it up for the re-records. very exciting for rep tour and the next album (red!!!!!!)

2021-02-06 02:12:31 +0000 UTCTo answer your question about Folklore and Evermore, as a fan of Taylor since her debut album, I absolutely loved them, even though they were such a drastic change up. But I always go into Taylor albums with an open mind because ever since probably Red they’ve all been so different. I’d say the first three albums are the most similar, but even they have their own identity that sets them apart. And each album has shades of past or future projects. For example, I think I Know Places could fit well on the tail end of Reputation with the more romantic songs. And King of My Heart from Reputation has a bit of 1989. Then Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince has some of those darker Reputation vibes. And Betty is very reminiscent of her first two albums. But overall as a whole each album stands out as something new. And you are correct, New Romantics was a single. Taylor has put out a few of her deluxe tracks as singles, because they’re just that good. And they are almost always worthy of being on the standard album.

2021-02-06 00:43:38 +0000 UTCI don’t ever attempt to rank TS albums or even songs within albums becuase it’s too impossible. First of all becuase when you rank something it always ends up feeling like you don’t like what you ranked lower, and that’s just never the case with TS. I just appreciate all her music for different reasons. If I had to choose my fave albums of her are folklore/evermore (masterpieces) and red. From her country era my fave might be fearless and from her more pop era maybe 1989 just because of how iconic it is. Her albums that won Grammys are 1989 and fearless (when she was 18). You should def check out Grammy museum performances of blank space, wildest dream and out of the woods.

2021-02-06 00:30:00 +0000 UTC1989 has to be my favorite album of hers along with Folklore. Rep and Evermore are close second though. All of her albums are different and so good it feels like you're doing them injustice by ranking them. Some things I thought of while watching your reaction: Out Of The Woods is about Styles, even though they dated just for about three months their relationship was so very public it was bad. As far as we know they probably ended the relationship because of it and this song perfectly describes how she felt in this relationship and the chorus is repetitive because it represents the anxiety she felt. I love how you described the line about two paper airplanes flying, but also they both had a necklace with a paper airplane pendant. You can also see it the Style music video. Bad Blood has a rapper feature on a remix/music video version. This song is not about Styles but Katy Perry, they had a feud. I 100% sure you didn't finish Wonderland song. 😆 You Are In Love she wrote about the relationship of Jack Antonoff and his then girlfriend. 1989 is a pop perfection, I like the 80s vibes on some of the songs. Style especially is a pop perfection. And all four ballads on this album are something else. All of the music videos are also awesome, you have to watch them and react to them! Shake It Off, Blank Space, Style, Bad Blood, Wildest Dreams, Out Of The Woods and a tour music video for New Romantics.

2021-02-06 00:01:37 +0000 UTCJust some context on 1989 if you are interested re: the first two tracks. Basically Welcome to New York is her embracing her single life. She left Nashville and moved to New York and was single for 2 years and found lots of happiness and independence from it. Also since you are going backwards, 1989 was literally such a shockwave for the music industry because she had never made pop (like maybe 3 songs from Red) but like this album is 80s synth pop. Also Blank Space is like a joke that she wrote. Because the media painted her as this psycho nymphomaniac that dated lots of men and wrote songs about them and that she was crazy and they all left her she thought it would be fun to write a song from that girls perspective if she actually existed. (Hence the line “gotta long list of ex lovers, they’ll tell you I’m insane). Check out the music video it’s amazing it’s like a complete caricature of what the media says she was she’s in a massive mansion crying in marble halls and riding horses 😂

2021-02-05 22:47:22 +0000 UTCSuch an amazing reaction as always! After you do the Rep tour you definitely have to check out the Grammy Museum Performances. She does acoustic versions of Black Space, How You Get The Girl, Wildest Dreams, and Out of the Woods. ALSO her mashup of Enchanted and Wildest Dreams for the 1989 tour is still one of my favorite TS performances still to this day.

2021-02-05 21:48:53 +0000 UTCalso, interesting point about singles is that a lot of fans think that her lead single choices are questionable. for me personally i only really think 'look what you made me do' from rep was a 10/10 choice that showed the album in a good light. one that stands out as a 'bad choice' is def ME!. overall a very cheesy song and not at all representative of what lover is about.

2021-02-05 21:22:06 +0000 UTCi loved this reaction. i felt like you picked out all the bits that make it special and were really positive towards it. i also agreed with your opinion on 'how you get the girl', it's *almost* a filler track, especially the way it follows 'wildest dreams'. in terms of favourite albums its hard. i listen to one and think 'ok this is it' but then i listen to another and love that too. overall its reputation for me though, i love the bad bitch vibes and the whole era, especially following the happenings from miss americana and paired with the imagery of the tour. anyway, this was fab! also very excited for you to see the music vids, think you'll like the one for 'out of the woods' ;)

2021-02-05 21:15:43 +0000 UTCTaylor is an artist, a humble human being AND A PERFORMER! Just wait till you watch the reputation stadium tour and the 1989 tour. she puts on quite a show!! she beings the songs to life. Taylor said in an interview that she knew a lot of people wouldn't understand reputation at first but only after seeing the tour they'll understand it more. the rep tour is a spectacle and the 1989 tour has some of the her best music arrangement! it's so worth it. i'm so happy you're reacting to the rep tour, I think you'll be blown away even more by her.

2021-02-05 20:39:50 +0000 UTCI can’t wait for you to watch all these music videos!!! I love rediscovering all these albums with you. I’m almost embarrassed to say how many times “you and I” have listened to Taylor Swift while I’ve been working from home lol. I love each of Taylor’s albums for different reasons and her songs always just hit me in my feels no matter what.

2021-02-05 20:19:34 +0000 UTCYes, New Romantics was a single! Maybe that's why you thought you had heard it before haha. 1989 was like her peak era back in the day, it remains one of her biggest if not the biggest one along with Fearless and of course Folklore/Evermore, it broke so many records!! But to me, RED and Speak Now hold the number one spot in my heart. And Reputation was the biggest comeback ever, for sure, it made a lot of noise because everyone was wondering what she would do next haha. I can't wait for the Rep Tour reaction, the production is insane! And you definitely should check her Grammy Museum Performances of Blank Space, Out of the Woods and Wildest Dreams, she talks a little about the songs there too.

2021-02-05 19:58:45 +0000 UTCIt’s so funny that you heard “Starbucks lovers” on Blank Space because there were actually a lot of articles about that when the song came out! Also, definitely check out her Grammy museum performance of Blank Space where she explains why she wrote it!

2021-02-05 19:40:26 +0000 UTCI found it interesting that you said How You Get the Girl was the odd song out. That tune is such a bop! For me, it's definitely Shake It Off that feels out of place. Every other song on the album is about love, then that one is randomly like "By the way, the press have been talking crap about me", which lyrically puts it far deeper into Reputation territory than 1989. You're right about it having a serious feel good vibe when performed live though, which is why I urge you to check out The 1989 World Tour Live because she closes with Shake It Off and it's just the perfect party atmosphere... there's absolutely no way it won't leave you feeling amazing. You've asked in a few videos how fans feel about singles. I feel lucky in that respect because I typically ignore the singles chart and never listen to the radio. I've only ever heard the hits in the context of the full albums so I don't experience the burnout other people do. Right now, Sia's dropping a few tracks from her upcoming release and Apple Music keeps telling me they're available, but I absolutely refuse to check them out until I have the entire thing in my hands and ready to be listened to as a whole. Side note: If you aren't familiar with Sia, 1000 Forms of Fear and This Is Acting both deserve to get onto your list. I know you're a fan of insane, lung-busting, powerful notes and she is a legend when it comes to those. The thing I've found with Taylor Swift and her eras is that it kind of prevents you from picking a favourite. Perhaps if everything she'd done was a straight forward pop album you could compare them all, but the way she changes her style makes each release stand out in its own unique way. It depends on how you're feeling at the time too; 1989 and Lover have a ton of great driving songs, but Folklore is more of a cold night in front of the fireplace mood. It seems to be a running theme in your reaction videos where every new album is a new favourite, so my advice would be not to worry about it! I've stopped trying to decide if one is better than another and if anybody asks, they're all favourites. That said, I love the direction she's going lately. Like she said in Miss Americana, the industry expects women to stay young, yet Folklore and Evermore show a real maturity and it didn't stop them from being critical and commercial successes. Those two albums have proved she doesn't need to entertain people with tight, sparkly dresses, her songwriting talent alone is enough. She's finally living for herself, not for the headlines or anyone else's expectations, just doing things her own way and focusing on what makes her happy. I think she's in a better place than she's ever been and it's what she deserves after everything she's given us.

They’re some of her best vocal performances I’ve ever heard and are beautiful takes on three of her best pop songs. And of course the 1989 world tour on YouTube! 🥰

2021-02-05 19:08:09 +0000 UTCOkay so much to say! Watching new people, especially you discover Taylor’s albums just makes me enjoy them so much more and takes me back to the era in my life when i first experienced them. I’m 27 now and first became a Taylor fan when i was 16 so i have a close connection with her and all her music, but i have the ability to be somewhat “objective” and critique her choices as an artist/businesswoman. I think 1989 for me ranks lower because it had 6 singles that were really popular so it’s hard to listen to the album all the way through cause of how much I’ve heard songs like blank space and style. BUT like I said hearing you hear them made me appreciate them all the more. That’s the great part about Taylor’s catalogue is that there’s so much of it to get lost in and rediscover. To you point about “bad songs”: I think I can confidently say there are some Taylor songs that just aren’t great (perhaps one on every pop album except for maybe rep?). For this album it’s definitely How You Get the Girl, Lover is ME!., rep’s is maayyybe Look What You Made Me Do. Perhaps they’re geared for radio play/commercials/movies (which is something she said she didn’t have to worry about on folklore and evermore). At one point I found myself questioning her taste with some of these BUT I think Taylor’s has a “camp”/theatrical side to her that she gives hints of in these songs. Like so outrageous and cheesy and fun for the sake of being fun. You’ll see this in Red with Stay x3. And it’s a well known thing amongst fans that her singles (with the exception of 1989) are not representative of the albums as a whole/are questionable at times. Hence why Lover might be underrated. The weaker songs on folklore and evermore are a matter of taste and opinion because of its alternative sensibilities. As far as the personal stuff goes: Taylor has told us there is PLENTY we don’t know about her and even though she’s the queen of Easter eggs to drop hints to her fans, I think she’s a little cheeky with them and may even drop hints like a “bait and switch” to keep people from knowing too much about her. Case in point, most people say 1989 is a lot about Harry, but they really only dated for three months. I know artists feel deeply so I’m not saying it’s not possible that the songs are about him, but some people play their relationship to be this grander love story than it is to the point where she might be writing about him still (I don’t believe that’s the case). All this to say, I always take her Easter eggs with a grain of salt and look for a deeper message instead. As always, thank you for putting in the time and effort to share your thoughts on Taylor’s music with us! Can’t wait for you to watch rep tour and for red!

2021-02-05 17:56:30 +0000 UTCYour reactions make me so happy! I loved this! If you are curious about where I place this album in her discography, here is my ranking. 1. Reputation 2. Evermore 3. Speak now 4. Lover 5. Folklore 6. Red 7. 1989 8. Fearless 9. Debut 1989 is an amazing album with so many bops. It seems low on my list, but doesn’t mean I don’t like it. I love this album. I think I just have more of an emotional connection with some of her other albums a lot more. It’s so hard to compare them cause they are all so different.
