Comments

Love your videos, your reactions are everything ❤️

Christi

The pausing is why I am here <3

ragecleaner cleaning

Wow you are a god for all of these comments, thank you!

Prem Parekh

The behind the scenes for end game is awesome, because you see Taylor and Ed’s friendship which started before and during the red tour :)

Cassie

This was probably already mentioned but yes Taylor has acted in a couple movies and been amazing!

Crista Weitzman

The building at the end of the End Game video is St Paul’s Cathedral in London ;)

Sara

I know I'm kinda late to the party but I'm having a 'Michael Reacts to Taylor' binge session this past week and it's been a blast. Also, have to say, you looking at the camera like a confused puppy, almost as if we were actually there to answer, were some of the best moments! Always appreciated ;D

Rachel Silva

And she was also in The Giver!

Mal

Omg never thought of that... very possible. Nothing good starts in a getaway car 😬

Regina Phalange

I agree!! I've been a fan of Taylors forever but there's something about the 1989 era videos that are just *chefs kiss* and I always seem to come back to them. I mean I love all her recent videos but the cinematography for 1989 was just another level.

Katherine Yao

I’ve always wondered if the car crash (with the jaguar in the passenger seat) was a reference to Getaway Car and the media frenzy surrounding her relationship with Tom Hiddleston. He was a spokesperson for Jaguar and she’s referenced that in King of My Heart.

Stephanie Orman

Loved your reactions to her videos. She a ver artistic individual with a very vivid imagination.

Marcella Raponi

ah i see, thanks for the info!!

Mandy

It's the Millennium Bridge, correct. But she's walking towards Tate Modern. The building looking like the White House is St Pauls Cathedral. One of my favourite spots in London.

Sandra Svensson

pretty sure the bridge at the end of 'end game' is the same bridge from HP Half Blood Prince! (the bit at the beginning where the dementors attack London). Which makes that building the Tate Modern museum if I'm not mistaken

Mandy

I don't actually think the Grammy was a jab at Katy. I think it's a commentary about how the media pays more attention to the car crash than her accomplishments (Grammys).

BratNDaHwz

I feel like Taylor fans have basically become Nicolas Cage in National Treasure. We all go searching for these seemingly insignificant details that are actually a hidden treasure trove. You really do get a tiny reward for being a fan every time she releases something new.

Jared Scoggin

She was in an episode of CSI and she was freaking amazing!!

Susie

Also, you'll see the dynamic between Jack and Taylor. Love them together.

Brianna

I love watching your reactions because it's like watching someone falling in love with your favorite artist for the exact same reasons you do. You have so much insight!! You'll totally have to watch a youtube video that breaks down those videos, because honestly there's so much depth to them and so much to be said. You should check out her "Making Of" series for reputation. They included random clips in Miss Americana, but she released a lot of footage of her writing and recording reputation. I enjoy watching it because you can totally tell she knows exactly what she wants. It's great watching her write these songs. I wish she did that for folklore. I think you'll enjoy it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4WlSnWtkt8

Brianna

You should watch the Bad Blood Music video it has the Kendrick Lamar version of the song and is another epic video with so many cameos and is a reason for the scene in look what you made me do with all the robotic girls to represent her “perfect squad”

Allison V

Okay so here's a short explanation of Ready for it MV: the hooded Taylor is the 'bad Taylor' media painted, she's evil and and manipulative and she has a 'good Taylor' trapped in a box. 'Good Taylor' is trying all the tricks, constantly changing herself to break free and live on her own (hence her eras always being different, why she is so versatile). She's trying to get out by making herself stronger, more powerful but the only time she can break free is by using her voice - the cage breaks when she starts to scream (hits a high note). She's destroying fake Taylor, one created by media and her enemies with her voice and now we can see that this 'bad Taylor' they all wanted us to know isn't even real. I always wondered why at the end the eyes of 'good Taylor' also turn to robotic eyes, but I think it might mean she will never be able to be fully herself because of the life in public (because they are burning all the witches even if you aren't one). Ready for it is a love song about her boyfriend Joe and also her fear of the media destroying their relationship ('touch me and you'll never be alone'). 89 and 91 are a nod to their birth years.

Joanna Kowal

Your Taylor stuff is my favorite. Can’t wait for the next part of the reputation tour!

Tiffany

Lover era videos next please! Then 1989!!

Tiffany

In the Delicate video I just think that piece of paper is magical and it makes her invisible, maybe because she's tired of everything and wants to disappear. At first she's happy about it but then starts to miss it. You can see in the elevator she think that lady is smiling at her but when Taylor realises she's not she's sad. At the end she "praying" to the paper to be visible again and then we can see everyone at the bar is looking at her so her wish came true. I'm not sure what's the meaning behind all of it tho. It's a fun video nevertheless and it always makes me happy.

Andreja

I watched this reaction three times and it makes me so so happy. The 89 and 91 graffitied on the wall in ...Ready For It? is a nod to the birth years of her and her boyfriend Joe. Some of the other graffiti are either titles or lyrics from the album. Also at the end of that video you’ll see “they’re burning all the witches” written.

Starr Jauregui

Love love love love <3

Sarah Walter

She has another song with a rapper on it and where she raps 🤣 thug story with T-Pain it’s a silly video they showed at the cmt awards in 2009. This is the only video I could find of it. https://youtu.be/6mFFBFYQYSs

Ashley O

The LWYMMD video has sooo many Easter eggs and you got a lot of them! Great reaction as always!

Liz N

It's nightime when you're uploading videos so when I wake up early in the morning I see I have something to look forward to when I come back from work exhausted. ❤️

Andreja

This made my heart so happy ❤️ You should really watch a LWYMMD Easter egg video. There’s so much in that video

Claudine Melchiorre

Taylor has been in a few movies! Cats, Valentine’s Day, and the Lorax. I agree! She’s amazing at acting and I wish she did more movies! I love how you go super in depth. The longer the video the better! I’m not sure if you saw it but towards the end of ready for it there were words that said “we’re burning all the witches” from I did something bad. Also in delicate in the scene where it’s raining there was a sign in the back that said “Joe’s Deli” hinting at her boyfriend and “Deli” also references to the song title Delicate.

Katey

Yep, the note in Delicate is supposedly from Joe, that is who she’s supposed to be seeing at the end! The dive bar is a common theme from reputation onward, as she and Joe got together there - even mentioned in Invisible String - “out of all the wrong arms right into that dive bar, something wrapped all of my past mistakes in barbed wire” :)

Olivia Carney

Taylor was in the movie valentines day like 12 years ago!

Elisha Li

I love all the Taylor Swift content lately! I would love a reaction to Taylor Swifts ft. The Civil Wars - Safe and Sound song/music video off the Hunger Games Album!!!

Melanie Antle

MICHAEL... Rep every week, Red album on bated breath, and music videos per era... I'm stuffed. Stop feeding me! I am so stoked to watch these vids again with you... 1989 videos still holdup as my favorite ones though Rep and Lover tie at 2 for me especially Look What You Made Me Do (maybe her best vid to date); as mentioned, check out Lauren Lipman for easter eggs and all things Taylor. I am a Patron of her too for the Swiftie wisdom <3 also just some quick things from LWYMMD.. Blue Dress = Out of the Woods (there's soooo many old Taylor's though as you mentioned); Grammy = Katy Perry jab; Snake SERVING T cause Taylor SIPS T as you go back you learn such... I came on during 1989 so Rep made me do a lot of research but the lead single...the hype...what a time :D I keep adding but 13 is Tay's fave #...always check tracks 5 and 13 for some of her best songs!

Hunter Kuehn

Your videos are my favorite!!! Thank you for this! In the Delicate MV, the bar she gets to says Golden Gopher, a dive bar in LA. She references this bar at the beginning of the song, “Dive bar on the East Side where you at?” and on Invisible String in Folklore: “A string that pulled me out of all the wrong hands right into that dive bar”. I believe this was Joe & Taylor’s first date/meeting. In the MV she goes through a journey of being “invisible” (perhaps during the time she disappeared from the media) and finally getting to be herself, then everyone staring at her when she arrives at the bar Joe is supposed to be in represents her finally feeling “seen” for the first time. I think the note represents Joe — maybe a slipped phone number or invite.

coffee.and.honey

Cant wait for you to get into 1989 music videos they are insane lol such a great reaction! thank you

jane

That was a real damn blast to watch, Taylor‘s music videos are just iconic and there’s sooo much to take in!! I must say, you cought a lot of things that I didn’t catch on my first, second, third ... watch! Congrats on that and I can’t wait for the rest of rep tour and all the other music videos, love you! ❤️

Clarissa

I’m so happy you’re just sucked in this world of Taylor Swift like the rest of us. Lol. Love the video. Appreciate all your effort. Cant wait for the rest of the rep tour and previous era reactions. Oh, and she’s been in a few films like Cats and Valentine’s Day.

Lauren Lipman's youtube channel is savior for Taylor Swift easter eggs here is the playlist on reputation she decodes all the music videos and songs cause it's all too much for someone to explain everything in a comment https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZ4h1SLi9HtosWkuMWxybf7JPBiitOd5D

12) the last few bits of the music video there’s a lot going on and Taylor says we haven’t even worked out all the Easter eggs. Taylor lifting the motorbikes to me is a stab at Big Machine Records and how basically she carries that label on her own because she is the one that made it famous (motorbikes are big machine)

Regina Phalange

11) you were right about all the old Taylor’s. Some of the more famous looks that can be seen are the swan (shake it off MV), the silver dress and guitar(fearless tour), the cheerleader with the top hat (Red tour) and the girl with the glasses and T-shirt with all the signed names (you belong with me MV - I’m particularly looking forward to you reacting to that one)

Regina Phalange

9) the male dancers with the I heart TS shirt is a reference to a T-shirt Tom Hiddleston was wearing in a famous picture. There’s 8 of them (her 8 “famous” boyfriends) and it’s a reference to how people say she’s made a career off her exes and exploits the men she’s with. 10) Taylor on the plane is this idea of how she was seen as the girl who ruins everything and self sabotages her own career

Regina Phalange

7) Taylor robbing the bank- if you look closely you can see it’s called “streaming co.” This is about how people say she was greedy for taking her music off Spotify and just wants money when in actual fact she was trying to effect long lasting change in the music industry around how artists are paid (and with Apple Music she actually succeeded in getting them to change their rules). 8) all the mannequins represent the criticism Taylor got for her friendship group (the screen says “kitty squad”.) everyone said that to be her friend you had to be skinny and a model and they all bowed down to her like a leader and then she disposes of them when she gets bored

Regina Phalange

5) the car crash has been debated by a lot of us. Some people say it’s taking a dig at Katy Perry because of all the animal prints or Justin Bieber who got in to a car crash (neither of them have a Grammy). But also she’s driving a Maserati and there is a well known line in her song Red “driving a Maserati down a dead end street.” The car is also possibly linked to a comment she once made that if she was in a car crash the paparazzi would take photos of her before trying to help her. 6) Taylor in the cage is a reference to how people claim her career has been managed by men and she’s just a puppet. She was criticised for not attending the woman’s march etc plus people claim men write all her music anyway so this was a take on that

Regina Phalange

3) if you look closely, in the bathtub there is a 1 dollar bill which of course represents the money she counter sued for in her sexual assault case. The bath full of diamonds represents the media’s idea of her being really rich and spoilt and living this extravagant, greedy lifestyle. 3) obviously all the snake imagery of self explanatory and you were right about the Brutus thing. (Some swifties say it goes even deeper then that- this is a very niche reference but during their feud Katy Perry described Taylor as Regina George and there is a scene in mean girls where they all turn against Regina and Gretchen says “we should just totally stab Caesar.”

Regina Phalange

1) the outfit the zombie is wearing is the dress from the out of the woods music video which was the end of the 1989 era so it’s the first reminder of Taylor saying the old her is dead (and the woman she is burying is Taylor at the met gala at the start of the 1989 era). 2) if you look closely one of the tombstones says Nils Solberg which is the pseudonym she wrote under for the song this is what you came for with Calvin Harris because she’s shedding her identity

Regina Phalange

Just in case you wanted to know all the references from the music video (not sure if someone has done this already)

Regina Phalange

Hi Michael, thank you once again! Yes, all videos are full of Easter eggs and meanings... that’s why is so difficult to explain each one when it’s in the same reaction video! The behind the scenes videos are very cool, specially LWYMMD. Well, Delicate: “dive bar on the East Side, where you at?” Got it? 😉

Michelle Siqueira

Idk how u don’t like music videos they are my fav part of songs. I always look out for them and love to see what the artist is trying to tell us with the song. Well for the most part cuz sometimes the videos don’t make sense. But with Taylor there is always a message sometimes even multiple. I must say I’m not the biggest TS fan but I do enjoy most of her music and her MV are always so good. I respect her as an artist and honestly just think all the critics are just jealous of her success and her power over the industry and the charts.

YC

I’m subscribed to 5 patreon creators and yours is by far my favorite. Just want to thank you for all the work you put in and for being you. Haven’t even watched this yet but I know I’ll enjoy it!

Lucille

Well that’s my bus ride to work sorted, perfect entertainment for me to watch 🙌🏻
