Fearless (Taylors Version) - Full Album Reaction

Hopefully the time stamp doesn't scare you off <3

Comments

Untoutchable is a cover song!!!!! I love Taylor's version

Kah de Magalhães

What happened to this video???

Ashley Maxwell

Did you ever listen to the piano version of forever and always? If not please do and please record your reaction, it’s so beautiful.

Jeanine

After the Fearless and Red (Taylor’s Version) came out I have been all over those From The Vault songs, like crazy I’m not even exaggerating 😅

Bangtan is life

Bye Bye baby is the best Vault song in my opinion!

Emma Flake

The additional songs are in the platinum edition back then.

Richard

Hope you’re excited that Red is gonna be the next re-record release in November. Fun fact the guitarist you saw and watched Taylor interact with most during the reputation tour played guitar and did the background vocals on this album. He’s been with her since her first tour.

Monica Torres

Wait I need a Beautiful Ghosts reaction! Yeah Cats was an "experience" but that song is magic!

Lindsay R

I'm really not sure. On one hand it would be a good opportunity for Taylor to scrub the song from her discography because yeah it's a bop but it hasn't aged well at all and Taylor hasn't sung it since the Speak now tour and the last time she spoke about it was 2014. However BTR keeps trending on tiktok so it's driving up that albums streams. She's going to have to make a difficult choice around it but at the end of the day I don't think it's an essential Taylor swift bop that we all couldn't do without

Sarah Renshaw

Will you be doing the deluxe songs from 1989 and red? Been waiting on those! Love your reactions!

Rachel R

Waiting for another Tay Tay reaction..🙁 i miss them

Patrizia

Hey King, I know you cover a lot of artists and I don’t want to stress, but I’d love to see some new Taylor reaction soon, it’s been a while and you still got SO MUCH great content ahead! Looking forward to that ❤️

Clarissa

She better! That's my song!

Lynne

Do you think she will re-record better than revenge when she does speak now 🤔

Chanse

I bought papa John's and went to town on this reaction! Great review, glad you liked it.

Chanse

Just be aware of when you eventually get to Speak Now that Taylor doesn't stand by the lyrics in Better Than Revenge and has disowned that song. Thanks for continuing to react to taylors discography its great

Sarah Renshaw

pleaseee react to speak now next she wrote the entire thing by herself after people in the industry questioned if she was actually writing her own songs !! its my favorite album

Katie Polich

HOW can 3 hours plus feel like 10 minutes?!?! I absolutely LOVE your reactions! You always make me smile. Thank you so so much Michael! :)

Sandra Svensson

You should watch the music videos from the Fearless era. Love Story, You Belong With Me, Fifteen, White Horse and Fearless!

Beth Stokes

My daughter and I have been wondering too about Better Than Revenge. We're thinking she will still include the song on the re record of Speak Now, however she may change the line about the mattress somehow and make it work. If anyone can change and make it work, it's Taylor!

Beth Stokes

I think he already knows. But she didn't pick them on purpose back then. Fans pointed it out during 1989 era that tracks 5 are usually the saddest/most personal and she agreed. So she picks them on purpose since Reputation on.

Andreja

I want to start this by saying that you are so precious and your reactions to some of these songs made me so giddy, haha. Also, I've watched this all the way through already but I'm rewatching it to leave a comment. Yes, I have lost my mind. Since your video is so long, this comment will be equally as long. The differences between the 2008 release and Taylor's Version are very subtle. The most obvious one is the maturity of vocals, and there are a few changes instrumentally, but not very many. Fearless as a whole has many songs written about her first real heartbreak, which was Joe Jonas. We've forgiven him. They're good friends now. He's the one she sent a baby present to in "invisible string" from folklore. Joe Jonas is someone she has either written songs about or has referenced from Fearless all the way to folklore. That relationship played a really big part in her entire discography. From being heartbroken, to healing, to realizing that was something that she had to go through, and accepting it for what it was. Now it's time for me to be dramatic about the songs and lines that get me the most... you'll have to excuse me. 1. THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT A 31 YEAR OLD TAYLOR SWIFT, WHO HAS ABSOLUTELY DOMINATED WORLDWIDE, SINGING THE WORDS "back then I swore I was gonna marry him someday but I realized some bigger dreams of mine" THAT MAKES ME CRY SO HARD. 2. I was going to say "if you watch Journey to Fearless", but no, WHEN you watch Journey to Fearless (and generously give us a reaction), you'll hear more about the story behind her writing Love Story. We love teenage Taylor. Love Story is the song that took her from strictly country radio to pop radio. Everybody knows how massive this song is. 3. I forget the specifics of Hey Stephen, but if I remember correctly, I think Stephen was also a country artist she was either opening for or opening with? She had a crush on him. 4. WHITE HORSE ALWAYS HAS AND ALWAYS WILL RIP ME TO SHREDS. It's one of her songs that I don't listen to very often because if I do I will be in that mindset all day. We love a Grammy winning track 5. 5. Breathe is a song I love so much but I also can't listen to this one too often because it makes me too sad. 6. YOU'RE NOT SORRY IS SUCH A GREAT SONG, OH MY GOD. I was listening to this in the shower and almost fell out because I went a little too hard. It's important that you heard this song before watching the Speak Now tour, that's exciting. Thank you for liking this song, that makes me so happy. 7. The Way I Loved You... I love this song so much. It's about being with someone who is so good for you but still missing the person who wasn't. The line "he can't see the smile I'm faking, and my heart's not breaking 'cause I'm not feeling anything at all" is my favorite. The entire bridge is my favorite part of the song. 8. Forever & Always... just wait until you watch Journey to Fearless... my god. It's the only thing I can picture when I hear the song now. 9. The Best Day makes me so much more emotional now after knowing what her mom and family have been through as fair as her health. Puddle of tears over here! 10. Change was never a song that I gravitated towards before, but hearing it now brings a few tears to my eyes just thinking about what she was put through from them to now. The OUTRO!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? 11. LISTEN!! Every time I listen to The Other Side of the Door I have to listen to the end at least twice before moving on. I love it SO much! The way she sings "little black dress", yes ma'am. 12. Mr. Perfectly Fine is SUCH a bop. It's very young, but hell, we've all felt this way before. I've listened to it every day, multiple times, for the past week. Also, your face after hearing "'cause I was Miss Here to Stay".. I could squeeze you. 13. DON'T YOU RUINED MY WHOLE LIFE!! How, HOW could she write this song and then lock it in a vault for 13 years?? This song makes me cry a lot but I can't stop listening to it. 14. Bye Bye, Baby also hurts me hahah. I got my heart brutally ripped out of my chest in October and have been having a really hard time moving past it. This song makes me tear up because of how I'm currently feeling, and Don't You makes me cry simply at the idea of running into him one day, but I know that somehow I will. I feel dumb for saying this, but I feel like part of me is going to miss him forever. THIS ALBUM IS SO GOOD OH MY GOD! It didn't give her her first Album of the Year win for nothing!!! Now give me the Speak Now reaction so I can watch you cry!! >:)

Starr Jauregui

Untouchable is actually a cover! The original band who sings it is called Luna Halo!!! Taylor slowed it waaay down, it’s originally a super upbeat rock song!

taylor

omg has no one told u yet that track 5 is always the saddest/most personal song on the album? she picks them herself

Katie Polich

Just finished watching the video!! What a beautiful ride...it was so nice listening to the album again with you..you really pay attention to everything and i like it so much! can't wait for more!! Thank you 💛💛💛💛✨✨✨✨

Patrizia

Also, as an Atheist classic (up to 90s) country fan, I am overwhelmed by God and allusions. It's still very popular. I hear music for music. Just like another language, I don't lose the poetry, but yes God and guitars lmao

Hunter Kuehn

I love the piano Forever and Always... part of the Platinum release. All songs from Change to Today Was a Fairytale are from there. Today Was a Fairytale is from a soundtrack she did in the era. I had to finish the video in a second sitting but AMAZING reaction as usual! Thanks Michael.

Hunter Kuehn

Mr. Casually Cruel... casually cruel in the name of being honest!!! I could listen to you talk and dissect Taylor for hours. I have so many memories attached to these songs. Fearless was the first song I tried to play on guitar before I realized I was not good. Thank you for being you and taking the time to create more and more meaning to her songwriting and the depth she has!!!

Brianna

Discovered your channel because of your Evermore reaction and I commented how you had the most genuine reaction I've seen for that album (and trust me when i say I've seen a lot). I love every second of your journey to becoming a taylor swift fan and am so excited to join your community!!

Odessa Espejo

This album is so so so good! Your reactions when listening to Taylor's songs and trying to put the puzzle pieces together with her lyrics is so enjoyable to experience. This album to me is also timeless. I'm 54 and started listening to Taylor when my now 22 year old daughter discovered her music at the end of middle school. I was in high school in the late 80's, and this album is so relatable to my high school years and paints a picture of what diary pages of high school teenagers would look like. As you've said before, her music is like an audio book filled with stories and life experiences that so many can relate to. I'm so glad I joined this family here, even though I feel like the oldest person in the room lol. Also, you should try to get a copy of and check out the DVD Taylor Swift: Journey to Fearless. It's a behind the scenes look at Taylor's Fearless tour. As a Swiftie, I'm certain you'd enjoy it! Thanks for all your reactions you give and have a beautiful day :)

Beth Stokes

Others have already said it all, I just want to add that years ago quite a few of her unreleased songs and demos got leaked and a few of vault songs from Fearless (I think 4 out of 6) were also a part of it. So she indeed wrote them for that album when she was a teenager. I think I heard her say somewhere that she actually wrote dozens of songs for that album 🤯 And I believe for other albums too.

Andreja

You don't have to apologize for the video lenght, we appreciate it! I love your Taylor reactions and I always look forward to them so thank you! Also I love reading other people's comments before writing mine and I feel like we have a little community here ❤️

Andreja

Demo of Bye Bye Baby also leaked, but under the name One Thing.

Andreja

Taylor just loves rain 😄 She even had water pouring down on her like rain at the end of her Fearless and Speak Now tour concerts. ☺️

Andreja

I knew that, I was mostly commenting on its genesis. Should've written that better. Was commenting while watching along.

BratNDaHwz

But it's true that Taylor was bullied in school at that age and didn't have any real friends.

Andreja

You're right Cynthia, they gave her writing credits! Her version is totally different to the OG. That's why I was shocked when I found out it's a cover because it felt so much as her song.

Andreja

wait until you watch the 1989 world tour 😊

sai

I cant sit and actively watch a movie for an hour and a half straight yet here I am actively and INTERACTIVELY(seriously feel like we are all besties on a listening party) watching Beveraggi react for 3 hours straight. Lol I’ve been so excited and waiting so long for you to finally listen to her country albums and we’re finally here! This is our childhood! And yes, her voice is much more mature compared to the original records. But thats what makes us more emotional. Adult Taylor singing her songs to adult us. It definitely hits harder. And the fact that most of the instruments sound the exact same makes it feel more like we are all in this together, if that makes sense. Lol. Oh and should note how CRISP the instruments sound. I hope the band gets the recognition they deserve. I can imagine how happy they were to rerecord these songs after 12-13 years and we can hear them ✨clearly✨. And yes, I agree with you. Taylor and her band sound so raw here. The originals did sound a little manufactured. The instrumentals sounded kinda meshed together but that can also be the fact that it was 2008 lol. This is the best thing that happened to us Michael!! BUT THEN THERES STILL SO MANY MORE ALBUMS TO BE RE-RELEASED. IM NOT SURE IF I CAN HANDLE IT!!! IM NOT SURE IF YOU CAN HANDLE IT LMAO But let us tell you in advance, all of these sound almost the exact same as the originals. There are just very subtle differences. And of course as mentioned earlier, the clearer instruments and mature taylor voice. Im so happy youre doing a video comparison. You dont have to but youre doing so much for us!! THANK YOU. WE APPRECIATE YOU!!

Xene

There is a "platinum edition" of Fearless that came out due to the album's succes. to the platinum edition version Taylor added 6 songs (including the Forever & Always Piano version), so that tally's up to 19 + 1 or 2 tracks that she did for a movie soundtrack (Today Was A Fairy Tale) and now Taylor added 6 new songs which makes the album to be 26 tracks. so there is a version of her old self with the piano version. which is heavenly. the piano version was my favorite

Tal

OH OH OH THIS IS IMPORTANT. I feel like you need a warning for Better than Revenge on Speak Now. Don’t think she will probably include it on the rerecording. Its a bop but kinda not really okay at all in the lens of today... you'll see. just wanted to warn ya! Love ya bro

Gracie Nonos

idk if other people thought this too but listening to superstar as a 9 year old knowing Taylor was dating Taylor lautner from twilight I 100% thought she was saying "im no one special just another twilight girl who's desperately in love with you" for the longest time

Gracie Nonos

everything past "change" and before "the vault" songs are deluxe tracks that came out on the deluxe album back in 2008

Gracie Nonos

HELL YEA! Lord of the Ring style reactions. I will NEVER complain about the length, but I wanna admit I became a Swiftie during 1989. I never disliked her early work just her sound wasn't for me... This album blew me away. 2 hour listen alone and 3 with you. Can't wait to get the vinyl in. The sound is so different. Nostalgic in the songs I remember but cleaner, mature, open like you said. Not a radio album really but more in vein of Folklore and Evermore's sit your ass down and listen. I also love the heart and journey and soul for her to get ownership. She is an amazing woman and icon of our generation.

Hunter Kuehn

Hello Celene!!

Michael Beveraggi

Omg this didn’t even hit me until now 😓

Michael Beveraggi

Not sure I could appreciate that song anymore than I do but yes drench me in rain references!!

Michael Beveraggi

I fully experienced it and I’m so sorry you had a shitty day Rachel 🙁 (my actual expression rn) i hope this was a better couple hours and betters days are to come ♥️

Michael Beveraggi

You could literally post a reaction video that was a reaction to every single thing Taylor Swift ever made with no breaks for like 48 hours and I would be even happier watching it. Waiting for reactions to Taylor kills me, lol. I just want them all now. Then I want Swifties to give you the details on every single song and for you to re-react with that new knowledge, lol. Love these videos and they literally make my day when you post a new Taylor one. Can't wait for the rest of them. You also need to do a reaction to all of her songs for movie soundtracks. From Crazier (Hannah Montana Movie) to Eyes Open and Safe and Sound (Hunger Games), to Sweeter Than Fiction (One Chance), Beautiful Ghosts (Cats), I Don't Wanna Live Forever (Fifty Shades). Today was a Fairytale was from Valentine's Day. You can also see her acting in Cats, Valentine's Day, and The Giver. She also has several songs she wrote but either doesn't sing or only has cameos on like Better Man by Little Big Town and Babe by Sugarland. There are a few others I haven't heard, but I am sure they are amazing. Whatever Taylor you want to give, I am here for, lol. Only complaining you might get from me is not how long the reactions are, but how long it is between the reactions, lol.

Cheyenne Talbot

Justice for Andrea Swift. The Best Day is singing to her mom. Andrea Actually has two dedicated songs

Molly C

I don’t think you ever have to apologize to Swifties for a long reaction. Especially when you’re dissecting the lyrics and music the way you do. As a fandom we’re kind of known for over analyzing everything. Now, as for the album, Fearless has always been one of my favorite Taylor albums. It’s when I really became a true dedicated fan. I had her first album and I loved it, but this album hit me differently. It really showed me the brilliance of Taylor Swift, and that she wasn’t like other artists. Growing up in the south like I did, you get inundated with a lot of country music, even if you don’t like it, but Taylor was undeniably special, even from her debut. As I’ve grown up I’ve realized it was her writing that set her apart, and it’s been an absolute treat to get to revisit this album full of so much nostalgia with the benefit of Taylor’s mature vocals. I’m very proud of her (which feels weird to say because we’re almost exactly a year apart in age) for standing up for herself and reclaiming her art. I hope this brings change to the music industry and that people will realize that most artist don’t own their music. It’s so crazy that someone can pour their heart and soul into something but not be able to claim ownership of it.

Jared

I wonder if it is Joe singing background on "We were happy".

Susie

when i got my first car in high school, fearless was the first cd i bought to play in it and that album got me through all those first heartbreaks. i don't think i'll ever play that cd again once my copy of this album ships. taylor played change at my night of the reputation tour and i absolutely lost my shit haha also you might not notice since you're reacting to her albums backwards but she absolutely still calls back to the rain references of this album, notably in clean "the rain came pouring down, when i was drowning that's when i could finally breathe" and just a side note, when she announced she was re recording fearless my first thought was literally oh god we're gonna get the other side of the door outro.....

grace

Absolutely love your reactions! I'm so here for the 3 hour video and full honest reactions. I will say I'm surprised you didn't mention the lyric Mr. Casually Cruel and the relation to All To Well "Casually Cruel in the name of being honest". I would love to know more about this from Taylor! I'm guessing that she loved this phrase from this song and then when All To Well came along it was just a perfect fit. She is perfect!

Jessica McCoy

Answers to your questions: Fearless has a platinum edition. Come in with The Rain, The Other Side of The Door, Forever & Always (Piano Version), Untouchable were all on that edition. Today Was a Fairytale was for the movie Valentines Day she did one of those cameos with Taylor Lautner (who she wrote back to december about when you get to it). Forever and Always and Mr. Perfectly Fine are about Joe Jonas The Vault Songs are a few unreleased songs 'You All Over Me, We Were Happy, That's When" were all leaked demo's (some of them are on soundcloud. Fearless was re-recorded with her old band so the reason it sounds like a true band in the background because it was true. I can't wait for you to watch Journey to Fearless and hear the journey through the songs and her career from that point. Fifteen is about her best friend Abigail. It's the story that she had told Taylor and so Taylor wrote a song about it.

Samantha

White horse was the orig track 5 and Taylor would never switch a track 5 on us Swifties. You should watch the best day lyric video... its very good...hell all the fearless taylor version lyric videos are great! we were happy is keith urban on backing. Funny Taylor opened for Keith Urban, full circle

fivebyfive

So would you say that you would have appreciated How You Get The Girl more if it was in here?

Prem Parekh

Had to work all day and could not wait to get home and watch your reaction to Fearless Taylor's Version!! I'm home, I'm ready! That time stamp doesn't scare me ... ;)

Beth Stokes

There is a platinum edition of the original album which is on apple music with those songs after Change and it did include the piano version of Forever and Always. Love your reactions!

Sirena Phillips

We love Taylor and your reactions so you know we don't mind a 3-hour video! I love when a lyric hits hard, that's the best! Can't wait for the video you do comparing the old to the new.

Liz N

My bad, I was lazily going off Beveraggi's guess from the video. Swap "dad" with "mum" and the rest of the comment still makes sense, I swear.

Middy

Honestly, i've had a pretty shitty day and the thought of you reacting to this at some point made it go by easier. There's just something about the first time you listen to it, like a magical/weird/awesome feeling that i hope you experienced too. Can't wait to dive in!!

Rachel Silva

Thanks for this reaction! Love that this was your first time hearing Fearless ever, it's such a unique experience that you got to hear that album for the first time under these re-recording circumstances. For me Fearless - and I think for a lot of other - is such a nostalgic album. It reminds me so much of 2008/2009, at the time I was graduating HS and starting University, and it takes me straight back to those times. I was obsessed with this album (I was a fan of TS since 2007 from when I heard her debut), but Fearless took it to a whole other level. You know an album has marked you, when literally every single one of the songs have been my favorite at some point or the other. All the songs were written between the ages 17-18, including the vault songs. the vault songs are songs that didn’t make the album in the first place, and releasing them is a way of emphasizing the importance of what it means for an artist to own their work, becuase they’re the ones who really know that work including the parts of it that weren’t (at first) released to the public - and now she released 6 of those songs that hadn’t previously made it in but were part of that era and that time in her life. Taylor described it best, in her message: "it's an album full of magic and curiosity, the bliss and devastation of youth, the diary and explorations of a teenage girl who was learning tiny lessons with every crack in the facade of the fairytale ending she'd been shown in the movies”

Sol Gorlero

Also can’t wait until speak now! I’m sure you’ve been told but she wrote that with NO cowriters. After fearless won album of the year and the Grammy’s, critics were saying that she probably doesn’t pull her weight in writing sessions, so she wrote speak now to shut them up. So excited!

Cynthia Stone

Watched 'till the end, love you too man ✌️ Can't wait for what's next to come :)

Anna Does Things

Michael, thank you so so much for all the effort you put into your Taylor reaction videos. I know this will be a huge work load to edit for YT, but I’m so glad to support you here on Patreon and get the full experience. Fearless has always been in my top 3 Taylor albums. It’s magical. Her voice is definitely mixed differently in this version which will definitely take some getting used to. I also love how unpolished and emotional she is in the original version. I am definitely looking forward to your comparison of the two. I also would rank the best day as one of my very faves on the album. Can’t ever listen to it without crying. It’s actually about her mom, which hits so much harder now after Soon You’ll Get Better on Lover. I’d check out the official lyric video for that some (and a few others) for pics/videos of young Taylor. It’s super sweet. There’s definitely a religious tinge to Come in With The Rain, but I think the general message of the song is that she’s afraid to be vulnerable and chase her love interest/say how she really feels so she’s leaving the window open for them to come to her, all while asking god for guidance. As for the vault songs, all of them were written from ages 16-18 (maybe even younger than 16), just like the rest of the songs on the album. I think the standard version (Fearless to Change) make a cohesive album run. Then it’s thrown off by the platinum edition tracks (jump then fall to the other side of the door). Anyway, watching you discover this for the first time was SO special you have no idea. Thanks again!!

Cynthia Stone

I believe the band gave her writing credits though cause she changed up the lyrics arrangement so much! Always been a favorite of mine

Cynthia Stone

So songs 1-13 was the original standard edition. Songs 14-19 were a part of the "Platinum Edition" at the beginning. Then 20 is a single for a movie (I think) that was never part of an album. Then 21-26 are new songs she wrote for the album, but did not make it on. As for Apple music, if it's only showing you the standard edition, you should be able to go down to the bottom of the album and there should be "other versions" where the platinum edition will be. It's a weird system.

Tyler Woodward

Change is the original album closer, then The Other Side Of The Door is the Platinum album closer (what she called the deluxe version and yes it includes F&A piano version). Today Was A Fairytale is actually a song from the soundtrack to the movie Valentine's Day which she is in. It was made around the same time as this album so since she was gonna re-record it anyways she added it to this album. Then its the 6 new vault songs. Also country music fan here. It is totally I common thing to reference religion in country music haha. Taylor did a bit early on but never super overtly even though she does identify as Christian. Personally as someone who loves the music but isn't religious at all, I tend to gravitate towards songs and artists who reference religion a lot less but sometimes if a song is just too good it doesn't really bother me lol.

Mal

Yep there is a forever and always piano version in the old one.

sai

the best day is about her mom, the lyrics video she released for it definitely got me emotional

viola

Religious references are indeed a big part in country music (sorry for the multiple comments lol, I'm writing these as I watch)

Anna Does Things

if you’re this excited about the drums, “speak now” is gonna be a TIME. the drums go so hard 🥵

Merilla Michael

I've NEVER thought of this interpretation to Come in With the Rain (granted, my first listen was at, like, 15). I am MIND-BLOWN by your theory, it sounds very possible.

Anna Does Things

Lmao "Beveraggi weaves a conspiracy theory about Rain for 3 hours" should be the title of this 🤣 loved the reaction as always

Christopher Haessig

wait how could you say she got better at the placement of her songs when she literally put london boy, soon you'll get better and false god right after the other 😂. jk im just playing

sai

The best day is written about her mum ❤

Emily Hopkins

this is gonna be a fun 3 hours for me then. thank you so much!

sai

I watch a lot of Taylor reactions on youtube and I 100% understand why creators fear of long video reactions. because of course if it's long you'll lose viewers and fans activity and interactions (comments etc.) but I love that it's a 3 hour long reaction video! don't fear of making long Taylor reactions!! haha. as a hardcore swiftie, give me 10 hour reaction video and i'll love it. haha. I can't wait to watch the video. it's late here right now, so i'm keeping it for tomorrow. can't wait. thank you Michael, for being honest and thoughtful and actually thinking of the meaning of the lyrics. that's what makes your reactions awesome. thank you so much man!!

Tal

I'm sure you'll notice the next time you hear the song, but when you were talking about The Best Day and how good Taylor is at writing from the perspective of a child, the 13 year old reference comes even sooner than the mall line. The verse starts with "I'm thirteen now and don't know how my friends could be so mean" and it's tied up later in the song with the line "I know you were on my side even when I was wrong". Whatever drama occurs between friends at that age, they're often all equally accountable, but her dad (Edit: mum, not dad. My status as a casual fan has been revealed) was cool and understanding enough not to make things worse and just took her shopping instead.

Middy

I actually love that you're enjoying these reactions and put your all in them and make these long videos, you're one of the veryyy few creators to be so dedicated and the videos must be a nightmare to edit too so I appreciate it :)

Anna Does Things

I finally watched the entire video. As always, your growing appreciation and love for Taylor and her music is so delightful. I have to say Speak Now is an album I always preferred to Fearless but the re-recording really does hit different after all these years. I think (and someone correct me if i’m wrong) that she included songs that never made it to an album but were from that era. For example, Today Was a Fairytale isn’t on any album but I listened the heck out of that song - I believe it was made solely for the movie “Valentine’s day”. Also, I know you don’t dive into the rumours or drama (which I appreciate wholeheartedly) but in Mr. Perfectly Fine she says “mister” 27 times, which is the exact duration of seconds the phone call was when Joe Jonas broke up with her. Again, not trying to feed into the gossip but I think that is so genius of her as a songwriter.

Steph

amazing! I love every single one of your reactions omg!!!

Shruti Patel

I have two toddlers and it took me quite a bit to finish this because I had to keep pausing it. But it was worth it! This was my first listen through of the re-recorded album! I loved the song with Keith urban. But he was one of my faves back in the day! The best day was about her mom. And forever and always and mr perfecty fine we’re both about joe Jonas haha. So you were right! Joe’s now wife posed the song on Instagram saying it’s not NOT a bop haha. Meaning she likes it. Loved your reactions! I need to start watching when my kids are asleep so I can appreciate the videos though haha.

Ashley O

I cannot wait to watch this when I'm done work! I love your reactions and how deep you dive into the music.

Alessia

Everything but the vault songs were previously released. Today was a Fairytale was in the Valentines Day soundtrack and the rest after Change was in the Platinum Edition.

Hate to break it to you but Untouchable was a cover of a rock song by Luna Halo. The arrangement sounds REALLY different.

BratNDaHwz

You’re still gonna do the deluxe songs from Red too right?

Allison V

The other song you were thinking of with throwing pebbles was Hey Stephen :-) “of all the girls tossing rocks at your window, I’ll be the one waiting there even when it’s cold”

Olivia Carney

the old version of the songs and the new version I'd say is basically the same with a more mature voice and slightly different accent (her voice used to be higher/younger sounding) and the production is almost the same but it sounds clearer and more fresh. also not to make this about gossip but i wanted to mention that's it's known that forever and always is about Joe Jonas and it was a known thing back in the day that he broke up with her in a 27 second phone call and mr perfectly fine it's clearly about the same thing too. The reason I mention it is because in invisible string on folklore she says "cold was the steel of my axe to grind for the boys who broke my heart now I send their babies presents" and folklore came out summer of 2020 when Joe's wife Sophie Turner was pregnant so everyone figured out she was mentioning him in that lyric.

Ironically, Change was actually an ode to her record label because they were an independant, new record label. She held back finishing it until she won the CMA Horizon Award and saw her record label head crying. Now, she's rerecording because of who said record label head sold the label/her masters to.

BratNDaHwz

I support it too, was just making sure he knew of its existence 😂

Liam Mcfarlane

Change was written as a kind of underdog story, but actually became an anthem (as you mentioned it felt like) for the 2008 Olympics! They played it regularly during the broadcasts of the events that year

Olivia Carney

He had to, Fearless just released, I support it :)

Anna Does Things

The time stamp just HYPED. ME. UP

Anna Does Things

The Best Day is about her mom, I highly encourage you to watch the official lyric video on YouTube! Bring me to tears!

Olivia Carney

coffee.and.honey

This is my fav Taylor Album I’ve listened to it hundreds of times and you point out things I never even noticed (even compared to the original) I just love you man 😥

Lucille

2008 Fearless had two versions, one of them being the standard one (which has 13 tracks) and platinum edition (songs from Jump Then Fall to The Other Side Of The Door). This is why they aren't "From The Vault" since they were released before. Today Was a Fairytale wasn't part of this album because it was written for Valentine's Day movie in 2010 so there is unfortunately no correlation with Fearless (but I loved watching you trying to figure it out!)

Leinad

Abigail from the song fifteen is still a great friend of Taylor’s - she’s the girl in the documentary who Taylor has dinner & wine with, where Taylor mentions that having a baby is like raising a Tamagotchi 😂

Olivia Carney
