When you said “I needed to hear this version” when you heard “State of Grace” acoustic….Ive never felt more seen. This song did something to my brain when I first heard it. It was a version of Taylor’s voice I had never heard that way and it was everything .

She starts crying in the middle of the performance and her fans immediately start singing the lyrics louder. When she says this song stands for the fans now it is because of those moments.

(she wrote this about jake gyllenhal not showing up to her 21st birthday)

Up until this point people who weren’t fans had only heard her radio songs and thought she was just this country-pop princess who made catchy songs and didn’t do much else, but when she pulled out an album track for the biggest stage in music and said “No, I’m going rip your hearts out right now...” the world realised she was so much more than what they’d originally thought. I think this performance was the catalyst for her achieving so much success with 1989, she gained so many more fans from this.

I've watched videos of her singing it millions of times but none of them are ever as pure emotion as that Grammy's All Too Well. You can tell she was still feeling all the emotions from when she wrote the song. Slightly sad to move on from the RED era but also super pumped for you to listen to Speak Now!!

I love when artists try something different with acoustic versions, especially when it’s a more uptempo song like this. It just changes the whole feel of it. It’s one of my favorite things. I also appreciate when singers do acoustics that are just stripped versions of the original, but doing something like this makes it more special IMO. It’s like a whole new song.
