One of the things that makes her so impressive is that she can pull off several genres incredibly well! Not many artists can do that. Also the sonic variety kept the album interesting and not monotonous.

She is inspired by all genres and wanted her debut album to reflect those roots. If it's confusing for you, that's literally what she intended when she said "I want it to be like, messy."

Some people can swerve all over the road, you know, and others need to pick a lane. I think she needs to pick a lane and choose a genre. I feel like that’s a harsh way to put it, but sometimes I felt like I was listening to Billie Eilish and sometimes it was Paramore and I was left feeling unfulfilled and confused.

There's also a bunch of videos of clips of her unreleased songs from instagram, I already can't wait for her future music!!

I literally grew up listening to Taylor year after year... so Taylor references or inspiration hit me like a big flashing sign. There are a ton!!! My favorite is in 1 step forward, 3 steps back Olivia wrote "which lover will I get today?" and in Dear John Taylor wrote "wondering which version of you I might get on the phone tonight"... and it just gives me chills. I feel more of some sort of connection to you each time I watch you listen to this kind of music. I knew it when your favorite off folklore was seven, and you did it again when I KNEW my favorite song was happier. You're the best, thanks for being so kind and so real. Going to go cry to this album on repeat now.

Michael, the guy who co-wrote with Olivia on most of these songs, Dan Nigro, also co-wrote on most of the songs of Conan Gray’s debut album “Kid Krow” as well, which came out late last year, and that album is just as beautiful as this one, and Conan & Olivia are very good friends, I REALLY think you’d love his album, so so good both of them

Anywho, I LOVED your reaction because it was exactly the same as mine... Olivia just keeps blowing me away I don't understand. I'm 20 but mentally I feel stuck at the age of 16/17 sometimes and songs like 'brutal' and 'jealousy, jealousy' were a little TOO relatable.
