2021-06-10 05:45:03 +0000 UTCIt’s so weird how people are so quick to dismiss Gina’s feelings and tell her to get over it. She really liked Ricky, to the point where she stopped trying to sabotage Nini and Ricky out of being leads, because she was content just being around him. Ricky dropped her in a second the moment he got back with Nini, not even regarding her feelings. And while it is not his job to cater to her feelings like that, it’s the lack of acknowledgment for me. He’s being dismissive and treating her teasingly as if they weren’t romantically interested in each other like a month ago. It must be so hard for Gina cause it’s not like she can remover herself from the situation or space herself away from him to get the chance and get over him. They go to the same school, work on the same show and have the same friends- she literally can’t escape him. And on top of that, she is constantly reminded and shown his and Nini’s relationship on repeat. Gina’s not a home wrecker at all, so she tries to be as supportive as she can about their relationship, but it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t still sting. Plus, she felt the closest to Ricky than anyone else because of their mother situation. So not only did she lose someone she liked, she lost a really close friend who she actually opened up to- just because she’s trying to respect the boundaries of his relationship. She’s a closed off person in general and it sucks that the this happened with the first person she trusted. I also think there might be some racial undertones to the way y’all treat Gina, but imma save THAT can of worms for another day 👀✋🏾

She also naturally has a hard time opening up and expressing her feelings I think it adds to the complexity of her character and Sofia has played it great so far in my opinion. I just don’t think it’s out of line because she’s hasn’t done anything but hold all her feelings in and try to “act” okay.

Also The “rose song is in this weeks episode that olivia wrote for the show and apparently she said it’s her best song that she’s written .

2021-06-09 18:49:47 +0000 UTCa lot of ppl aren’t noticing but gina is literally having to watch ricky do all the things he did with her with nini. the scene where big red tells her what ricky wishes he could say to nini parallels to when gina came back in s1 and he says “I wish… i don’t know what to say”. Another parallel is ricky asking to borrow red’s car, in s1 his car was where ricky and gina really bonded for the first time.

I mean she can’t help it if she’s drawn to a person but she needs to at least take steps to move on from him. Nini is her friend and if she truly wants Ricki to be happy she needs to see that he’s happy with Nini. And even if Ricki and Gina did get together how would that even work? They’re in the same friend group as Nini that would we way too awkward for them to be holding hands and kissing in front of Nini all the time. Plus that would definitely be a violation of girl code😂. Hopefully she opens up to Ashlyn and Ashlyn can help her understand this and help her to move on

2021-06-09 17:25:12 +0000 UTCI actually see the Gina Ricky thing almost the opposite to you. Gina's not actually doing anything wrong. Sure, she has unresolved feelings but she's not doing anything to act on them. She's not interfering in Ricky and Nini's relationship. She's not intentionally giving bad advice. She's not trying to flirt with Ricky. She's just trying to act normal while not feeling normal. I actually think it's Ricky who is kind of in the wrong. Yeah, he doesn't have feelings for Gina anymore but he did and he got close to her last season and then dropped her the second he got back with Nini. He hasn't even been a good friend this season. She came over to talk about how she felt lonely without her mom around and he acted like it was weird she would tell him that even though in the same conversation he reassured her that was the type of friendship they had. Sure, Gina needs to move on but that will happen in time. She can't switch off her feelings. Ricky is the one acting like nothing happened when they should just have a closure talk. And he could honestly start acting like a better friend because he's literally her first real friend in years and he's not been a great one recently.

I honestly feel like this girl makes anything sound good lol but wait till you watch next episode… Olivia wrote a song for the show and it is been hyped up to be even more emotional/better than All I Want!

2021-06-09 15:53:07 +0000 UTCI think we’re on the same page with Gina. That story needs to be closed already and that’s not even speaking as a Ricky and Nini shipper, but just as a viewer. It’s so uncomfortable watching Gina suffer like that. I love how Miss Jen is always Nini’s number one fan, she gave her the confidence to do what she’s doing now and it’s just so full circle to me how she chose Miss Jen as the reason for her to stay.

2021-06-09 15:51:43 +0000 UTCI know a lot of people ship Ricky and Gina and think they’re gonna be a slow burn, but I dunno. I agree with you, it just seems too one sided. And to be honest, Gina’s storyline would probably be more important to me if she doesn’t end up with Ricky. We don’t get enough of unrequited love that just...remains unrequited. Sometimes that friend you catch feelings for doesn’t ever feel the same way. Kids, teens, and adults everywhere can benefit from that story if they finish it right.

2021-06-09 15:20:10 +0000 UTCricky‘s not oblivious to the fact that gina likes him - he specifically didn’t want big red to ask gina about the whole text to nini thing because he knew it would hurt her, but regardless they just need to actually talk about everything because gina needs closure. ricky was her only true friend at east high during her first semester & they got super close and there were def feelings between them and now that he’s back with nini she has to deal with her unrequited feelings, the fact that he doesn’t have as much time to be the friend she needs, living thousands of miles away from her mom, and still trying to figure out who she is and what she wants in this new school she’s only been at for half a school year. it’s a lot for a high school sophomore to deal with and she’s coping with it the best she can but it’s gina’s personality not to open up to people (besides ricky about stuff not involving him) because she’s never had close friends before so i’m really hoping she and ashlyn talk about everything because building strong friendships with other characters is the only way she’s gonna be able to move past ricky
