"Professor Snape's robe caught on fire?" Sebastian asked, both amused and shocked at the revelation.
"I saw it at the gallery," Flitwick said, walking beside the heir. "It was a little before the end of the match."
"Doesn't make sense," Sebastian said, confused about how a man's robe could suddenly catch fire, especially someone as careful as Snape.
"Exactly my question," the professor said. "And I believe Snape knows who did it."
This made the heir even more surprised, as he had already guessed that someone intentionally caused the fire, but for Snape to not to act when he knew the culprit was a shocker.
"Why do you think that is, professor?" Sebastian asked, curious.
While he knew Snape, Flitwick had known the man for longer.
"Possibly it was someone he knows," the short professor said. "But if he doesn't want to take action, we cannot do much."
"But that is not why you asked me to meet, is it, professor?"
Seeing Sebastian’s smirk, Flitwick understood that Sebastian already knew what he was being called for.
"You said you would teach me ancient magic, right?" Flitwick asked.
Sebastian grinned, "I can teach you one form of it, but I already showed you my ancient magic, and if I teach you this… I hope you will keep your word."
Flitwick looked at Sebastian, "Do you truly want permission to duel with your seniors without guidance from a professor?"
"Not only that, but I want permission to visit the seniors irrespective of the rules that state otherwise," he explained. "And finally, I want permission to use my magic outside of my studies."
"I hope you do not plan to cause any harm," Flitwick’s eyebrows twisted in a frown, "And do know that the usage of magic to cause harm to students is something I cannot permit."
"Of course," Sebastian assured, "I have no intention of harming anybody."
The professor was still curious as to why the boy wanted these permissions. But he couldn’t let go of his only chance at learning ancient magic either.
Unknown to him, Ancient Magic was not something that could be learned. The only thing he could learn of Ancient Magic was a spell or two.
Why?
Mostly because not everyone was capable of perceiving ancient magic, much less wielding it.
Sebastian, until now, had only been using fractions of ancient magic that did not even truly scratch the surface of the most esteemed form of magic.
But the boy wasn’t going to reveal it just yet. It would be stupid to do so, and he knew it.
So, he stuck to his plan and worked with the basics for the time being.
"I will personally talk to the headmaster about your request for using magic outside of your class and studies."
It was actually a rule of Hogwarts not to allow magic and spells within the campus if they were not a part of the student’s curriculum.
Most students did not bother with that rule, as the spells they used weren’t strong and went off the radar with ease.
And that wasn’t going to be the case with Sebastian. So, for the little ‘exploration’ he was planning on doing, he had to be granted that permission.
"That would be great, professor."
By the time they finished their chatter, they arrived in front of Flitwick’s office.
"Come on in," the professor instructed, turning off the security measure around his chamber.
Flitwick’s office was clean but stacked with books and –
"Wands?" Sebastian asked, amused. "Broken at that."
Flitwick laughed, "These are the wands of the people I defeated. Trophies, you might say."
"That is a lot of victories," Sebastian was amazed at how many wands the man had. "Now I know why Professor Dumbledore called you one of the best duelists he had met."
It was a grand praise to be respected by Dumbledore, but to Sebastian, seeing the hundreds of broken wands was more of a praise.
‘Even if he only fought weaker opponents, which is very unlikely, he still has won countless duels.’ In a way, Sebastian found newfound respect for the short professor. ‘Looks can be deceiving.’
And that meant height too.
“Dueling is one of the only things that I ever excelled at,” Flitwick said, “So, I decided to hone it to the best of my capabilities.”
There was a saying that being a jack of all trades and a master of none is still better than being a master of only one.
However, Sebastian only thought of that saying to be viable in a survival situation, but to excel in life, being great at one specific field was more than enough.
Which the short professor clearly was.
“Anyhow, what magic are you going to show me, Sebastian?”
This, for a second, made him consider healing magic, but as he recalled that he had made a deal with Malfoy to sell healing potions, he wanted to keep such spells away from the public for the time being.
“I had initially thought of one spell, but seeing how passionate you are about your craft, I decided on an entirely different one, sir.”
This made the old professor interested.
“And what are you talking about?” The dueling master asked.
“There is one spell that, when used, allows the user to withstand damages and spell hits to a certain amount and use that magic as your own to enhance your spell,” the boy said, “It is one of the ancient magic spells that I know of and can teach.”
It wasn’t a magic form manipulation, so he didn't care much. And besides, there was a glaring issue that surrounded this spell, which was why neither Salazar nor he ever used it.
But Flitwick, who had never heard of it, felt excited.
“Are you certain you are allowed to teach me that?” He asked, just to make sure. “That sounds like a ridiculously powerful spell.”
“It is.” Sebastian nodded, “But it also has an issue that makes it unusable for most parts.”
While he could, he didn’t hide the problem from the professor.
Why? Because he did not want the man to go and die without any information.
“And that is?” Flitwick asked, wondering what a spell as magnificent as that could have.
“As I said, you withstand and turn the damage you receive into a spell,” he repeated, “A spell.”
“What do y–” But it clicked for the professor, “Only one spell?”
Sebastian nodded, “You can only use the damage you took to enhance a single spell.”
This made sense to the professor; otherwise, without restrictions, the spell was way too powerful.
“But that isn’t all.”
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the only issue with the spell.
“There is more?” The professor frowned, at which the boy nodded.
“This is the main issue,” Sebastian explained, “This spell does not only convert the magic you withstood into magic to enhance your spell, but it also consumes whatever amount of magic your body possesses at that instance and uses it all to cast that one final spell.”
“You mean…”
Sebastian sighed, “Yes, after casting the spell, you will be left drained of your magic and you might even lose consciousness. So, it is only a last-ditch effort.”
Besides, there was no guarantee that even with the enhanced spell, the opponent could be defeated. If anything, it left the wizard vulnerable to his enemies.
“Do you still want to learn it?” Sebastian asked, thinking of other spells he could teach in case the man declined.
However, that wasn’t an issue.
“I don’t mind,” Flitwick gave a smile, “No matter what, it is a form of ancient magic and spell casting which I cannot let go to waste.”
Sebastian laughed, “Very well then, sir. I will teach you the spell.”
As for the spell.
“Goldenus Experienceous.”
…
…
“Stupid Sebastian,” Draco groaned as he read the letter sent by his father. “Why do I have to bow to him?”
Draco felt betrayed as he read his father’s letter to him.
As for the letter’s content?
It was very simple.
Suck up to the heir of Slytherin.
That was the moral of the letter.
“Do I have to work under him?” Draco shuddered, recalling what he made Crabbe and Goyle do for him. And if he was expected to do the same for Sebastian, he knew that he was going to go through hell.
“No, there has to be a way around it.”
Otherwise, he had to lick the shoe of the very boy he spat at.
“Oh, Merlin.” He felt like crying. “Why me?”

[[A/N: The spell is basically a watered down version of the damage reflection skill from JoJo’s Giorno’s stand. But instead of using additional life form, the user uses his own body and it can only be used once before the user faints.]]
