Wizard's Pole Lounge - Patreon Version

Update 1.2 - I've animated the poses in this update along with adding some small voice-over whispers which I think adds a lot. Plus a bit of tidying up here and there.

I'm excited to release this one :)

Here's the >> Link <<

My girlfriend kindly supplied a heap of pole dancing mocap for this scene.. not an easy task using vive trackers & steam controllers while holding on to the pole at the same time  (I think she did a pretty good job).  I tried repositioning the hands with varying success but I think some of them turned out well.

I could have cut some of the mocaps but left most of them in there (let me know which ones you like best.)

There are some more things we'll try next time to improve things.

Going for a Japanese Hostess Pole dancer in this one.

This is THE best scene I have found for VAM! Not just the number of psostions, not just that it has sexy pole dancing, not just because of all the sexy poses, not just because of the quality of the animations, not just because of the realism of the characters, but because of all the above.

Thanks so much for the instructions. Much appriciated. And again Fantastic scene!

Dark Cypher

Thank Dark Cypher. Yeah I'm limited to Royalty free music so good idea to change it. First, you need to add the audio files in 'Scene Audio' in the main settings. Then find the atom 'STATE-BGAudio' you'll need to tick the show hidden box first. Then in the 'STATE-BGAudio' atom go to the Plugins tab open the StateMachine UI. There will be 1 to 9 states. In each one select 'Action OnEnter' where you'll see the music action. Within that you'll be able to change the clip at the bottom.

XRWizard

Wow loving this scene, can not wait to check out the rest of your stuff. One question can you advise or point me to some info on how to add my own music in place of yours?

Dark Cypher

Update all dependancys to latest version worked for me

Dark Cypher

I posted a comment on your public version of the scene, but just letting you know it's buggy for me. As soon as I load the scene and select any poses the girl just teleports rapidly into the ceiling. Am I doing something wrong?

Neko

Hi Festivalstone... oops I must have left the menu turned off.. It will still be in there.. if you show hidden you'll be able to see the parent label... I'll fix it for the next version

XRWizard

thanks!

F9

Thanks for the wonderful scene. Is the Floorwork Scene only in the life version? It is not visible in the full version.

festiavalstone

Sorry, should be fix now

Oh! Please understand the above is really "critizing at luxury level". I had noticed you'd linked the three "button panels" to easily accessible parents - so it's not really hard to modify the panel's position in the scene (for good measure, I added "rotate2cam" plugin to the parents). What is a bit ... unlucky ... is not so much the positioning of the "button panels" themselves (again: easily modified, see above) rather than the positioning of their respective activation buttons (very low, at the short end of the "catwalk extension", facing the player's default spawn position) -> as soon as the male gets up from the bench & "leans over" the end of that "catwalk extension", those activation buttons become a lot harder to access, especially from an "embodied" view in VR. But again: No biggie. At worst, it means having to pause the animation & "de-bodying". A minor hitch in the "workflow", not a dealbreaker.

CaseEP

Hey Case, yeah positioning buttons to be optimal for all positions is a bit hard... it's something I'm thinking about ( thought I'd got away with it by just using the arrows:). I could move them along with the scene, but more than anything it's planning on my end. I've unhidden the parent so they're easier to move. Just uploading an updated version (1.2) to mega, I added more animations to the pose plus a little voice wispers that I think add to it.

XRWizard

"Hi Heinrich, weird with the buttons, are you running embody in the scene? If so, sometimes the hands can get in the way of the pointer. You could try loading the default profile or adjusting the hand offset slightly." Iirc this issue was raised on AcidBubbles' discord, so I'd guess your intuition that this is most likely an "Embody tuning issue" is likely correct. I've also experienced the "difficulty selecting buttons" in this scene - but also in several other scenes. Personally, I've found the physical placement of the three panels (mocaps, positions, configuration), as well as their activation buttons, to be somewhat awkward at times (Embody possession in VR) - they're ideally positioned to be triggered when the male is seated leaning back; but during many of the actual "boinking animations", both the panels and their activation triggers are actually a bit behind the male's head. Mind you, this is easily remedied by moving the buttons & panels.

CaseEP

Always appreciate your input Case! The mocap definitely blows them out, I lost a couple of saves going past what VAM(or my pc could handle) I need to choreograph the scenes in advance next time so I'm focusing more on the quality not quantity. Less tidying up and less mb in the end as well.

XRWizard

Hi Heinrich, weird with the buttons, are you running embody in the scene? If so, sometimes the hands can get in the way of the pointer. You could try loading the default profile or adjusting the hand offset slightly. If not, I'm not sure what it would be.. what set-up are you using? I only test on the valve index these days but have a quest I can test with. Re poses, I did some idle poses in the last one.. I agree in hindsight I should have done some in this one as well. Going to upload a new version with some fixes so might add some in :) I haven't done much with two girls because it crushes performance so may save that for VAM 2.0. Thanks for the comment & Patronage!

XRWizard

Hi, just dropping in to say that this is a ridiculously good scene and its now one of my favorites. Loads and runs surprisingly quickly as well which is a very pleasant surprise. One minor nitpick is that the buttons for whatever reason are a bit hard to select in VR. The size is fine, but somehow the VR controller selector dot passes straight through them, have to really get up close for the controller to recognise the buttons. As for the amount of poses and dances I think the selection is very good. There is a healthy amount to choose from which I appreciate. Though if I have to give a suggestion then I'd say some idle animations where she sits with you and perhaps support for multiple girls would be nice Anyways besides that as mentioned, this is a great scene and looking forward to seeing more in future.

Heinrich

Ok, forget my nattering about filesize etc - the scene performs really well, and the mocaps are awesome! Top scene!

CaseEP

Hey, thanks for the reply. Before you go investing time: This was more a "shot from the hip" - I haven't even played the scene yet, just looked at some stats. I DO know other creators, with similar styles to yours (eg TGC, SlamT etc) - ie large multi-station scenes with elaborate control features & bells'n whistles - really start seeing the limits of what VaM can handle on a mid-class rig. Also - I'm definitely no expert on subscenes, but ... with large, complicated scene-control logic, there's always the danger of broken triggers during load. Dunno really whether subscenes are a boon or a burden in that respect. TL;DR - smaller scene .json is always nice. But ... your workflow should work for you.

CaseEP

Hi Case, thanks for the input! I hadn't t thought of using sub scenes. This was a bit of an experiment with pole dance mocap.. I probably should have left some scenes on the cutting room floor but some had some really nice elements. Going to make a lite version for the so will try spitting parts out at the same time. I'll storyboard my next scene so it's a bit more cohesive and tighter.

XRWizard

"I could have cut some of the mocaps but left most of them in there (let me know which ones you like best.) " Suggestion: Is it maybe possbile to add stuff that you regard as "not essential but don't want to cut them either" as additional scene/subscene? AFAIK (!), with the multi-station scenes you create (& we love), size of the .json really does impact loading times - and also (indirectly) performance, if the mocap data is stored in the primary scene-json (afaik, if it's loaded into Ram, it will decrease available memory, even if never played). ("Afaik/I think/it makes sense to me"!) P.S.: I could be totally talking out my ass .re performance, but from what I heard from other creators who have similar styles (TGC, SlamT etc), the technical upper limit for a scene json is 500mb (ie VaM will crash beyond that) - typical size for a "big" multi-position scene is ~250mb, afaics.

CaseEP

Oooooooooh ... the Wizard is back! Shiny!
