Painting backgrounds.
Added 2020-07-16 19:14:28 +0000 UTCThis piece is coming together. I am currently painting the background for the shot and wanted to give you guys an update on how its going.
I am really enjoying the perspective in this one and I think the main challenge is to get the sense of depth. By leaving a large part of the shot blank (just stone surface) I think we get the sense of the height of the rock which I like.
This scene was purely painted in Photoshop, so I did not use any 3D this time. I still need to add some slight shading on the character and add a slight shadow onto the wall as he is close to it. That will composite him into the shot better.
Also since his head is catching some light I will need to put a shadow of that on the crash pads. Since that shadow will be animated I think I will add that in the end in after effects or potentially on a separate video layer here in Photoshop.
I have finally got the new office in a relatively OK state so I can now work fully from here without stumbling over boxes or not knowing where my things are packed down etc.
