So the 3D characters that I created in the last few videos have proven useful. Here is the first shot where they are implemented into the film.
I will definitely make a video about how I converted them from a 3D look to the 2D one you see here. Its less technical and more laborious but I think it gives a nice result.
I basically have to go over each frame and trace my lines on top of the 3D render. It does end up with slightly wobbly lines for a shot with this slow movement in it, but I actually don’t mind it that much. I think perhaps there are some bits I can improve on to make it a bit more solid but I also like the slight organic look that it comes with. For anything where each frame is not as close to the following and previous ones this would look way more consistent.
There are some tricks when tracing things to make it look as consistent as possible between the frames which I can share in a video.
Really excited to keep using them!
