Next Patreon Challenge?

Hi Friends!

Let's kick off the conversation about a new Patreon Challenge Video. We have previously been making a 2D/3D mix for a wildfire scene and also a reimagined shot from Spirited Away.

What type of stuff would you want me to look into this time? I am open for suggestions and would love your input here, so write below what you would like to see.
You can also write your suggestions on Discord if thats easier.

Anything goes! :D

A timelapse of something might be cool. Like a seed growing into a tree.

Surfer on the wave,

I'd love to see something underwater!!

I like the idea of animating animals. As you say, not something I have done much of. Could for sure be a good challenge! You did a good job with your cat though in the animation you submitted!

That's a cool one. Smoke and FX are always fun to animate.

Hi Patrick! Welcome to the Patreon page! That is a nice style Joel got. I would say its mainly material and lighting focused to get that look. Also looks like he got a very consistent light setup for most of his work. Also some post work like adding a heavy glow to everything seams to be his style. Not sure if it would be something I dive into for these videos as I kind of want to keep my ''style'' in them but still thanks for sharing it!

I'm trying to think of things I haven't seen you do much of before, and two things came to mind. One of them was animals. Studying how they move, their rythm... And I know I'd learn something from that cause I've barely even drawn an animal since I was little. Someone interacting with a bird, maybe. That can be as small or epic as one chooses. The other were very small, yet precise movements, like a character playing an instrument up-close or so...

Maybe something connected with smoke and clouds. For example a rocket which start on a launch station and creates a lot of smoke and after that the rocket interacts with the clouds

Hi Olof I am new to your Patreon, I work in 2D character animation and dabble in Cinema4D in my freetime so combining the two in new ways is something I am interested in, and so far your videos have been very helpful. This may be outside your skill set but I'd be interested to hear your opinion about using Cinema4D for creating 3D illustrations much like Joel Plosz does here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CGZy0MVBlI1/ . Might make a good challenge as well? Curious as to how something like this would be accomplished. Thanks!
