Finally, I've made the in-game lighting exactly as bright and juicy as my cas lighting 🫠.

The screenshots were taken in the game, no reshade or edit was used on it.

And I also added a screenshots of the comparison with other lighting mods so that you can choose what you like more. I advise you to open the pictures in a separate tab to better see the differences.

📑 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

default in-game lighting mod for The Sims 4;
base game compatible;
does not affect game performance in any way;
completely redesigned outdoor and indoor lighting;
brighter and cleaner lighting everywhere at any time of the day and weather;
the brightness of the lighting varies depending on the time of day and weather;
conflicts with mods that affect in-game lighting, you can only install one such mod in your game;
it works for mac;
I advise you to use my GENTLE CAS LIGHTING MOD with this mod to make the characters look the same in CAS and in the game.

📑 FILE TYPES (install only one!)

It affects the brightness without lamps. I'm using the "bright" version.

Even Better In-Game Lighting Mod v1.1 Bright;
Even Better In-Game Lighting Mod v1.1 Average;
Even Better In-Game Lighting Mod v1.1 Dark.

✅ INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION

Just put one of the versions directly in the "mods" folder;
Do not change the name and do not put the file in subfolders.
conflicts with mods that affect in-game lighting, you can only install one such mod in your game!

«Does the mod conflict with Luumia No Glo and No Blue?» Yes, this mods conflict with any other mods that aim to change the lighting on the "characters". You can compare mods by looking at the pictures attached to this post .
«Does the mod conflict with Sunblind by Softerhaze and other similar mods by this author?» No, they do not conflict, because these mods are not aimed at changing the global lighting on the characters.
«Does this mod conflict with the CAS lighting mods?» No, they don't conflict. But I advise you to use my GENTLE CAS LIGHTING MOD so that the sims in the cas and in the game look the same.
«Can this mod be used with gshade/reshade?» Yes, you can use it with any shaders.
«What’s the difference between EVEN BETTER IN-GAME LIGHTING MOD v1.0 and BETTER IN-GAME LIGHTING MOD v1.1?» BETTER IN-GAME LIGHTING MOD v1.1 (any of its versions) is less colorful and contrasting, it has much flatter lighting than EVEN BETTER IN-GAME LIGHTING MOD v1.0. The interaction with multicolored lamps has been fixed in the "dark indoor" version. Please redownload this version, the "bright indoor" version does not need to be reinstalled.

UPD 20.07.2024 (to 1.1 version) :

Added the "Average" version, it is intermediate between the "Bright" and "Dark" versions;
The "Dark" version has been updated again, the "flicker" bug (which arose in a unique in-game situations) has been completely fixed.

Hi, if I chose the dark version I hear it gets rid of the hues but I wanted to make sure it wont make my game dark .. Im going to be using the softblind mod by softerhaze and I figured get the dark for that reason but what would you suggest I download to keep the brightness right in the game?

I'm a SimLit writer and had the no-glo/blue light mod installed. I would have to edit most of my screenshots to make them bright enough to be seen. I stumbled onto your mod and realized I hadn't updated the no-glo mod in awhile. I was skeptical about doing something different. Then thought "maybe I should try out a different lighting mod" just to see what it looks like. I DL'ed the average one and installed it then went to bed and forgot that I installed it. So I was taking screenshots for my latest chapter. Then I was in my photo editor to edit said screenshots and was confused. I started doing my usual work only to realize it wasn't necessary. I was sooo confused. I knew the lighting in the restaurant my sims were in wasn't great, but I didn't need to edit. In fact, all of my screenshots needed little to no editing (in as far brightness or saturation was concerned). Like, I could see the scenes so well; the screenshots looked lovely. Was I visited by a photo editing fairy? I'm embarrassed by how long I sat staring at the screen flabbergasted. But eventually, it hit me like a ton of bricks: I installed that lighting mod! It did all this???? I do have reshade, but I use it for certain shots in stories as I don't like playing with it on. So, having a good lighting mod like yours is saving me soooo muuuuch tiiimmme!!! Anyway, all that to say thank you so much. Even Better lighting mod is a lifesaver!

Hello! I play in this city and didn't notice any problems. However, if suddenly the lighting is really different, it means that EA did it on purpose. My mod does not control the lighting in individual cities.

Hello this is a lovely mod, but for some reason the city area next to the bridge in San Sequoia doesn't have the same lighting effect as the rest of the lots across all of the other worlds. Is this supposed to be this way? Its frustrating that this is the only location where the lighting hasn't been updated and my sim is living there lol.

Hi. The lighting in the game is dynamic and depends on the time and weather. The brightest option will be at 12 o'clock in the afternoon in clear weather.

Hiiii! I have a problem with this mod. I had recently redownloaded this mod and my game is brighter, but all my sims are extremely dark. My game is updated to the latest patch. I only have this game lighting and the gentle CAS lighting. I do not use any other lighting mods. My game graphics are at the highest settings. I have the Even Better Lighting and Gentle CAS lighting directly into my mods folder and still my sims are extremely dark. In CAS, they look great! I watched your video and it looks like everything is working fine. When you go to the menu, it's just a standard game overlay that darkens the screen anyway (even when the mod is not installed).

Hello there. What you are describing simply cannot exist. Or you're describing it incorrectly. This mod is a default replacement for the game code. It can either work or not work at all (when conflicting mods are present). It can't turn off and on when it wants to. These are static settings.

This mod still isn't working for me idk whats going on. i removed every other mod and all of my cc so this is the only thing installed but it won't work. It fades away when i enter the game if that makes any sense. i can see it for a second but then it fades back to normal lighting.

In fact, both mods are overriding/replacing the game's default "in-door lighting"... So, not compatible with each other. The reason you're not having problems despite using both mods is that this mod is added to the activation queue before the other mod (thanks to the alphabetical priority of the "!" (exclamation mark) at the beginning of its name), therefore it is processing 1st, and leaving/exluding the other conflicting mod out of scope from game's preliminary preparation (pre-rendering) process for packs/contents/etc.

Hi! I love this but I've got an issue that's not strictly related to this but thought you might know what it could be? My sims look pretty dark even when they are out in the sunlight and even with the bright version of this mod, it doesn't change at all. Hi! Make sure that you have deleted the old version (you need to delete, not "replace" the files). And then, if the problem persists, I advise you to reset the lamp settings on the lot to default and reset the lighting settings that you like. This should help. Hi! My mod in its previous version already got rid of the blue hue and glow, but it just works completely differently than the luumia mod (my mod completely changes the way lighting works). You can compare the screenshots that I gave as an example they show exactly how the lighting differs.

The Better In-Game Lighting mod (all versions) is less colorful and contrasting, and the lighting on the sims was flatter, than in the new version (Even Better In-Game Lighting mod).

All versions of +- will differ exactly as shown in the screenshots. The old version is less colorful and contrasting, and the lighting on the sims was flatter. The new version fixes all these flaws.

yes! ive also restarted my game still having the same issue. ive done some more testing and it seems to only be happening with the dark indoor mod

Hello, there seems to be an issue in game where my sims are flashing yellow, I've deleted all my other mods to test if yours was the issue and it was :(( Its not in a sub folder and I've only put the dark indoor package into my mod folder.
