2019-11-13 03:33:48 +0000 UTCI once had a date with a lady who left with somebody else. But the circumstances were... unusual. A bit weird, even. Nothing sordid, mind you, and I never felt as though I'd been dumped per se. ... OK, since somebody is likely to ask, the story goes like this: a friend got me a blind date on a triple date. Some background: Pennsylvania didn't have a picture on their driver's license at the time, and the Liquor Control Board issued their own IDs. But I didn't drink. Like... at all, ever. Never bothered to get an LCB card, and Dave had forgotten that little fact. So the date was at a bar... which I couldn't go into. There was a front area that I just sat and waited in and drank colas. She eventually came out and asked -- very politely, and a bit apprehensively -- if it was OK if she left with this guy she'd met. I of course gave my full approval. It wasn't her fault, and there was no spark between us anyway. Mostly I was just bored. So, yeah, Dave never tried to set me up again.
