Cersei is a great character that is well written, and played extremely well. She is also one of the most evil characters in the show, outside of Joffrey and Ramsey. Her only truly redeemable trait is her love of her children. I’m not going to provide a list of the reasons why because it would be exhausting to write, and I don’t know if I would be able to remember what you have seen and what would be a spoiler. That being said, she is one of my absolute favorite characters on the show. I can’t wait for you to catch up to see how you feel about all the characters when your current, especially her.

2018-01-12 21:38:13 +0000 UTCHi Juli! I've been waiting for you to reach 3x09 and now you might understand why we call it "The Red Wedding." It's brutal and shocking all at once. I'm glad you weren't spoiled and we got to see your raw reaction to the episode. As far as Cersei goes, she is a very complicated character and I can see why you like her as she's a crafty and powerful player in the game, but I can also see why many people dislike her (but I don't want to spoil anything.) For me, I personally don't like Cersei's character (for many reasons others have commented for your reaction to this episode) but I do respect her as a villain in the show. Now I know every character in this show is not all bad or all good. No one is pure evil simply for no reason (though I'd say Jeffery comes extremely close- I can't stand him) but where the show stands right now, it's easy to see Cersei painted as a villain and the viewers who do admire her character can only defend her actions for so long. (Again I won't spoil anything so don't worry) I'll just let you think on that as we move forward. Again, I don't hate her character, I respect her desire to protect her family at all costs, but I also know there is a line when it comes to going too far and where Cersei is on that line, I guess you'll just have to wait and see.

I do agree with you on two things though. 1) the way the character is written is brilliant, and so is the actress who plays her. So if I look at her in this way, she's great. 2) I also agree with what you said about Cersei doing everything to protect her children. but other than that I do consider Cersei to be a bad person, I could almost go as far as to say that she's evil to the core...but not quite. I'm so excited to hear your thoughts on her when you've finished all the episodes :)
