2018-02-07 21:29:57 +0000 UTCSigh. Ok. I know Iβm going to get some hate for this but I never thought Klaus was in love with Caroline. He was drawn to her and infatuated by her strength and her light and specially the way that she was around him. He found in Caroline someone so different from himself that he wanted to woo her. Specially since she challenged him when he was used to having everything and everyone he wanted at the drop of a hat. And she saw something in him that no one else had seen in ages. She was the only one who believed he was more than just a monster. I do think Caroline brought out something in Klaus that he believed had been lost for a long time. Klaus really liked her but love her? And yes, Iβm aware of what he said to her. How he would be her last love no matter how long that takes. βI intend to be YOUR last.β Not I want you to be mine. That was Klaus being romantic but at the same time it was Klaus being the Alpha male. We also have to remember that Klaus is 1000 years old so he has probably been infatuated with others before so its not like Caroline is the special snowflake. Iβm sure heβs left a few broken hearts in his lifetime. Klaus sees a light in Camille too, which is why he likes her. Itβs all about the contrast between who he is and what he looks for in others. All he knows is darkness, therefore he is drawn to people who are pure of heart. I know there are a lot of Klaroline shippers here that will disagree with me and thatβs fine. But to think that is unrealistic for Klaus to have feelings for someone else just because he had a connection with Caroline when he is older than dirt is pretty absurd. I love this episode. It shows how manipulative and smart Klaus really is. Klaus and Rebekah look so good in formal attire and I do enjoy when they scheme together. I love Rebekah but sometimes she does fail to see the bigger picture. Yes, the plan was to find where Elijah was but then what? Where they going to waltz in there and take him knowing how powerful Davina is? Klaus might be evil, but he is tactical. He knew that it was better for Marcel to want to give Elijah back. This way Marcel trusts him more and is no longer worried about having Elijah out and about because he knows he can count on Klaus. And even better, Klaus did this in front of Marcelβs subjects forcing them to witness how he saved their king. I understand that Rebekah felt betrayed because Klaus went ahead and did this on his own and sacrificed Katie for it, but she was going to die anyway. I think what pissed Rebekah off the most was the fact that once again Klaus left her behind and that he was choosing power over family.
