Just re-watching while waiting for 2x05.... It strikes me that as nasty as Bakshi is, I've had worse bosses. At least he tries to make sure Jemma doesn't catch a chill.

She is trying to be like May but as you said she misunderstands that May holds her emotions in because she is afraid to let them out. You will see in upcoming episodes how this plays out more. I would say more but I would probably be going into spoiler territory. Just keep watching.

Skye is very passionate and I think this is an important part of her character. At this point I don't think she's controlling her emotions as much as just turning them inward. You're right that she's not getting all of the lessons from May that she should be.

Coulson said that they had someone at Hydra so Skye put 2 + 2 together with some very quick thinking to keep Jemma's cover. BTW, Ward was supposed to die in the first season but the showrunners loved Brett Dalton's performance (as Hydra!Ward) so much that they re-wrote things to keep him on the show.

2018-02-15 05:33:13 +0000 UTCThis episode is made of AWESOME! Jemma's back, Donnie Gill is back (and he's PISSED), Skye is a bad-ass, Fitz makes us all cry, Ward almost dies.... This shows how fast things move in this season. In episode 2x01 we hear Coulson talking to an agent on the phone and two episodes later, we find out that it was JEMMA! (Seriously, go back and check out that scene in 2x01). In Season 1 this material would have taken at least ten episodes to get to because they were waiting on Winter Soldier. Now the brakes are off and we are plunging into adventure!
