2018-02-22 23:35:13 +0000 UTCI agree with you. The Vampire Diaries is very relationship-based. It focuses mostly on the love-triangle and ships and family tends to fall second to those. The Originals is centered around family. While they do spend some time on romance, the core of the show is the power of family. I am not saying one is better than the other, but it is interesting that two shows based off of the same story have such different themes.
