TVD 5x11 FULL UNCUT REACTION

Caroline will always be my fav character (and maybe i am biased towards her for that reason), but ALL the characters on TVD are hypocritical, Elena herself is judgey af.

Hi Juli! I'm trying to catch up to your reactions for this show and I'm so glad you made it to the 100th episode! I personally love this episode due to Klaroline, Matt and Rebekah's reunion, Katherine's backstory scenes, and all the special guest appearances. TVD was and will always be one of my favorite shows of all time. It truly changed my life when I was watching it live on air. I grew up as the show aired for eight seasons so seeing it get to the 100th episode was such an achievement. I remember getting so emotional when Stefan went into Katherine's head and gave her peace. I truly felt for her in this episode (until the end of course. These next episodes will frustrate you like it did for us.) However, the Klaroline sex scene had me talking about it for the next two years since they're one of my favorite ships of the show. I remember screaming and being so excited after waiting for them to get together. I just love them so much. However, I wish you could've enjoyed the moment more but I understand your discussion about Caroline. (I blame the writers). The Stefan and Damon moment was also really touching and such a good scene since it shows an aspect of the show other than the love triangle. The show is so much more than that so I'm glad the writers included that scene.

my favorite part of this episode, was the return of my favorite relationship on this TV show, Stefan and Damon! I hate how writers sometimes forget them as brothers to focus on the love triangle. in my opinion Damon is the person that Stefan loves the most, even above his love for Elena, with Elena he always respected her decision to "die," as when Klaus broke the curse or when he saved Matt instead of Elena because she asked, but if we remembered when Damon preferred to die instead of becoming a vampire (as Elena did) Stefan was not able to respect Damon's decision and forced him to become a vampire, he lost his mind so as Damon did in season 2 feeding Elena with his blood. of course Stefan and Elena are the most important people in Damon's life, and of course Stefan loves Elena, but I think it's beautiful the love that Stefan has for his brother, and I love how it starts to show more and more over the course of the seasons, without this love triangle in the middle of it.

No one is arguing over the bad things he has done. Im talking about this episode solely. He claims to want to change but he couldn't let Katherine die in peace because of whwt? She hurt his feelings?(im talking about him specifically only). Plus katherine said she is a survivor, not that everything she did was necessary to survive. She even said in this episode that sge deserves to be hated. She never gave any excuses for the things she did. She owned them. But damon did. He linked everything he had done to katherine. That shows that he couldnt even accept his own role in all of the evil shit he had done. Like what kind of flawed logic drew him to the conclusion that Katherine had anything to do with vicki's death? Damon infuriates me. I only really liked him in seasons 6-8 bcuz of his friendship with you know who.

And can I just say, let's respect Juli's opinions on characters. You all have your opinions, she's entitled to hers. Nobody sat there telling you how you felt was wrong when you were watching the show. Every character has their fault, every character has their own shortcomings, how you feel about them might be different than her, and that's perfectly fine. But please don't be so naive to think that the character you favour is better than the next, they are all bad in their own way. Expressing how you feel about characters is fine, but don't try to force your feelings or ideas on others.

I agree Hazel. The thing people seem to forget is that every single character has done horrible, unforgivable things. They rag on Damon for all of his wrongdoings, but not Stefan or even Klaus. I think that might be because the audience sees a lot of Damon's wrongdoings, while Stefan's are mentioned but rarely shown because when he was a "monster" it was largely in the past. This is deceiving of course, because it doesn't make him any less dangerous or bad than Damon. Turning off his emotions is no excuse to it either. They are all bad in their own ways. They all have shortcomings. You can't make excuses for any of their faults.

I'm sure the same can be said for nearly every character....For the most part Damon does own up to his wrong doings unlike the other characters....Katherine included not everything she did was for "survival" get out of here with that...Killing Jeremy was just as unnecessary as Damon killing Vicki or Stefan killing Andie. Then she proceeds to hyjack Elena's body and cause even more fuckery after Elena was kind enough to forgive her? None of that was done for survival purposes she has no right to try and take over someone else's life...It's disgusting how Elena is treated in all of this everyone tries to understand and justify the wrongdoings of Stefan/Caroline/Katherine/Klaus etc....Yet turn a blind eye to the mistreatment of Elena as a main character and constantly bring up shit Damon did seasons ago ignoring the changed man he is in s5...You could never truly love him but managed to find ways to love the other characters who have done just as much evil and to the same extents that Damon did? Please

This is why I can never truly love Damon. He is such an asshole in this episode. He couldn't let Katherine die in peace. He was absolutely horrible in this episode. He needs to take responsibility for his actions because not everything he has done is because of Katherine, especially putting Vicki's death on her.

You’re always saying that Caroline think she’s better than everyone else, but the truth is that she is the most insecure person ever and actually hates herself. She even said so in this episode. She hates the part of herself that cares about Klaus, and I think that’s why she’s so judgemental towards Elena. It’s a very known phenomenon in psychology to conseal the parts that you don’t like about yourself by making it very clear that you judge those traits in others. For example, it’s quite common for gay people who are still in the closet, to bully or talk down on the openly gays. Only when they accept themselves, they’re able to accept everyone else. This is not an excuse for Caroline, but an explanation as to why she’s doing the things she is doing. It’s never as simple as “she’s just a hypocrite who thinks she’s better than everyone else”. You have to try to put yourself in her place and understand where it’s coming from. But even though it’s all about her insecurities, it’s still no excuse to be a bitch. So hopefully Caroline will be back to her best self soon, after having exposed herself to her inner demons in this episode.

I'm a Klaroline shipper and I don't think she was in love with Klaus either. I just felt she felt they had a connection that she denied for so long and this was her opportunity to give in to her lust for Klaus.

I love Caroline as a character overall but during this season I had a really hard time not being irritated by her judgemental ways. But I was still excited as hell about the Klaroline hook up because both the actors just have this amazing chemistry whenever they are on screen together.

I know I will probably get a lot of hate from Klaroline fans, but I don't think Caroline is "in love" with Klaus. She doesn't say that and it isn't even implied. I think she has feelings for him, but that's it. I just want to make it clear that I don't hate Klaroline. I like there interactions, but I never saw them as a real couple/relationship, so I never was really invested in them.

I remember feeling sorry for Katherine the whole episode and then at the end thinking "That Bitch". I agree with you that this episode truly displayed how Stefan is an amazing and truly forgiving and loving person.

After the Klaroline sex scene how can you judge your best friend when you just slept with the guy who killed your bff aunt, also killed your best friend and that meant that her biological father had to die in order to saving her. After the sex scene and most importantly, the love confession how can you still not understand that sadly you don't choose who you fall in love with?

Feel you anger Juli ///Caroline in my opinion was a right Bitch, she was in no way a good or supportive friend at all. her smiling and being so happy about Delena's break up pissed me off so much, i started hating her....but try not to get mad at writer though because i truly believe if they favoured any ship its DELENA always...it can never be easy otherwise the good and happy parts wouldn't be so worth it. for example when we saw Delena sex 4x07 then it got a bit spoilt by Caroline and the sire bond trying to make us doubt Delena ..it was horrible, yet seeing season 4 finale made it all worth while as it was real love and showed all the haters and Caroline they were wrong. So never lose faith Juli, and try and reply to me as id love to hear what your thinking now and if you still have faith in Delena as lately it doesn't :( ......................OH and every time u said you don't want Katherine to die i kept saying to myself 'oh you're so gonna regret that after episode 12 babe'

The same way that Klaus is good to Caroline and understands Caroline is the same way Damon is good to Elena and understands Elena. They both see the good in their "monsters" (for the lack of a better term). The fact that Caroline doesn't see the similarities in these particular scenarios is hilarious and a very hypocritical. Now if Elena wanted to shame Caroline about Klaus she would be in her right because Caroline does it to her over Elena's relationship with Damon!! But you don't see Elena do that do you?? Even tho Klaus practically ruined Elena's life and Tyler's life.

I don't think her problem is how she treats Damon, she can hate him all she wants. Her problem is how she treats Elena and how little she respects Elena's relationship. You don't celebrate your best friends' breakup, Bonnie is not Damon's biggest fan either but you don't see her doing and saying the things Caroline says. How would Caroline feel if Elena shamed her relationship with Tyler or the fact that she slept with Klaus?

Nice recap Juli!! can't believe it's been 100 episodes, congrats I can't even imagine when you get to 150th and the final season which is crazy. Interesting that you say that Caroline was projecting her own feelings for Klaus towards Delena. cuz oddly enough she's not as judgmental after sleeping with Klaus and getting it out of her system!! LOL

Alright here we go the storyline that officially made me hate Katherine Pierce who used to be one of my favourite characters. This really ruined her and this was their best way to stir up more drama!! I truly hate that arc and it was the worst for her character... They could've had a beautiful story of Katherine finding redemption as a human, bonding with Nadia but they chose to rip off a Buffy storyline that Buffy pulled off better IMO. The next episodes are so messy lol. I was going to stay away but I'm looking forward to seeing your reaction cuz... oh, its such a roller coaster. Damon torturing Katherine tho was very petty and vindictive, he shouldn't have done that but by the end of this storyline I really don't feel bad for her.

after the klaroline sex scene where you talk about caroline and damon, if you were caroline who would you rather your best friend be with, someone who abused, fed, used and pratically raped you or somebody whos helped you turn in to a vampire, helped&taught you stay in control, helped you move on, and has been nothing but nice and supportive of you&what you do ? id pick stefan everytime.
