To me this is one of the best and worst episodes of the entire show. It takes you on such an emotional rollercoaster, possibly more than any other. I cried for about 2 hours afterwards. I was binge watching and even though I wanted to start season 6, I couldn't. I found the possibility of Damon and Bonnie not being in the show too depressing. Looking forward to season 6.

My mother sitting next to me laughing over me crying over a TV character. made it even worse. I was so sad to see my favorite Character Damon Salvatore die. I was really upset for a while after watching this episode when it premiered.

2018-04-27 18:49:01 +0000 UTCgolam rabbi I already explained what makes Damon a deep character and half of it had nothing to do with a girl.....YOU can read my summary carefully and see that NOT everything is based on his looks....Seems that is something antis use when they don't try to understand a character. If Damon isn't a deep character than neither is Katherine who has done nothing but continuously fuck people over and use it as a disguise of "surviving", or Klaus who was strictly a villian on TVD etc...We've seen Damon EVOLVE, We've seen his setbacks, we've seen him struggle with his own personal demons over the course of 5 seasons neither Katherine or Klaus were given the growth Damon recieved on TVD. Katherine has had MANY chances to change and evolve she didn't want to, she was stagnant and the same Katherine we've seen in season 1 flashbacks....Klaus had NO redemption or growth on TVD he only started getting his on TO.

Klaus was strictly the Villian on TVD he didn't have any redemption....He only started getting character growth on TO....Damon has been the anti hero since first season and has had many setbacks on his way towards progression..... We've seen Damon having to deal with his personal demons, struggle with his insecurities, being void of humanity and personal connection for over fifty years, dealing with rejection, trying to find love in all the wrong places, lash out etc...over the course of 5 seasons. Damon’s darkness was fostered by the darkness of others. It was instilled in him by outside forces, drawn up from the depths of his soul in captivity and torture, betrayal and manipulation. Damon wasn’t born a monster. He was turned into one by the monstrous acts inflicted ON him. He spent 145 years searching for and being deceived by a sociopathic selfish bitch who ruined him and his brother, got them killed and drove them apart. For nothing but her own amusement. He was turned against his will because his brother didn’t want to live forever without him. He was held captive and tortured everyday for five years, treated like little more than an animal and called only by number...He had to carve his initials into a wall to remind himself that he was still a living being worthy of love and worthy of being saved even when gone unnoticed by his own brother. He spent over fifty years void of all humanity and personal connection. His motives were/are driven by love the only reason he wanted to be a vampire was to have a forever with Katherine, the only reason he went to War and fight for the South in spite of his personal beliefs was to please his father...Turns out two of the most important people in his life, the people that shaped him into the Damon we saw in seasons 1-2 NEVER loved him, he didn't have a Lexi to help him deal w/his personal battles he was alone in all of this and wouldn't change any of it because he met Elena. So when you factor ALL of that in Damon's character has done nothing but grow and evolve ....Looks be damned. We didn't get to see Klaus journey unfold until TO....We only got bits and pieces of his backstory on TVD and still their roads towards redemption were/are completely different both complex but different. Not coming for you Micah but I hate when people write Damon off as "cliche" or base everything on his looks...He is much more than that and the people you see on IG aren't to be taken seriously there are a lot of people in the TVD fandom who love Damon for his journey not for his looks that's just an added bonus.

I will be honest Damon was a humorous characters which is a reason I like him as a character but, He does not have much depth as u guys give him credit for and part of the reason is because of his looks like someone pointed out earlier

I guess we all should dislike an attractive charater cuz there are nothing more to him... And Elena knew that they can still bring Stefan back that is why she didnt panic.
