technically he was only drained of magic and became human. He didn't die or anything that would´ve broken the compulsion. If the same thing would´ve happened to Elena then she would have gotten her memories back.

2018-06-06 16:09:02 +0000 UTCYou know they made a mistake in this episode. When a vampire dies all the compulsions etc that he does gets null,Alaric didn't die but the compulsion that he did should had come back when he stopped being a vamoire.
