Devil Mayu: Early Stages Pt 2

I may have stayed up a little later than I should have. I'm starting to fall asleep at my desk, now which doesn't usually happen. Here's Devil Mayu's current state:

She's looking better but I'm honestly not too pleased with her materials at the moment. I still haven't had a good amount of time to sit down and grind out work just yet. I'll likely just start fixing up the model tomorrow and working on getting that done before I go back and work on materials. The seams are awful and if I mess with the mesh, I could probably spruce up the hair a bit more.

I've also started working on trying to spruce up the descriptions so they look nicer. Those'll probably come along with the v3 update.

That said, despite Mayu likely being the first model with the first Source files released, I'll probably release the source files for the append models at the beginning of next year. I'll likely rebuild many of the models when the time comes for the v3 update and re-release everything in much better condition, but that'll provide you guys with some temporary PSDs and updated compile files to get you started.

Lastly, as promised, I'll make most new characters show up in both Left 4 Dead 2 and Garry's Mod in unison upon release from now on (and perhaps Source Filmmaker as well, soon). Thus far the survey is showing peopel aren't too fond of the idea of having models such as the chibis in L4D2 and due to the issues with hitboxes being serverside I'll not likely be porting all models from GMod to L4D2, but  certainly more than I have been. People are showing some pretty strong interest in the shadow infected idea as well as the idea of having Rotten Miku somewhere in L4D2 additionally.

Anyway, Mayu will probably be the first model to follow the new GMod and L4D2 release and I'll throw up a vote on which survivors she replaces. Each character will replace one L4D1 survivor and one L4D2 survivor. Making them replacements for all would make things difficult to manage (though hopefully L4D3 has an easier way around this), but I'll let you guys pick which survivors get replaced for each squad. As for an SFM release, I'll probably hold off on that for the v3 update. I don't know much about SFM myself as most of my hours in it come from the modelviewer. I'll need to find some people who actually do in order to gather some information to make sure they work appropriately.

I'm quite happy to be back to work and I can't wait to have a good solid session of sitting down uninterrupted again. For now, don't hesitate to shoot me with ideas for just about anything (especially source files for models that already exist). I've got some seriously big plans and I'm pretty excited. Thanks for the support, guys!

Oh, and just a heads up: as the eye system is expanded upon, it'll override the optional features addon. It'll become the extended features addon and will be required by all new models. This will not be done until it's no longer buggy and it'll likely be fully modular so no features are shoved down your throats. As custom animations are added in the future and such, doing the system this way will save quite a lot of file size which is great for downloads.
