I agree with JJ , to understand what’s happening in agent carter definitely captain America the first avenger and also to watch captain America winter soldier for agents of shield before episode 17 . If you don’t have time or anything someone could write the background of what’s needed to know.

2017-12-11 15:20:34 +0000 UTCSo about the movies, because of Captain America's story being related to SHIELD in general, it's easier to understand the full picture if you watch Captain America: The First Avenger now to continue with Agent Carter and then Captain America: The Winter Soldier before Agents of SHIELD episode 17 of season 1. You don't have to do that, of course, but I think it would help A LOT. Also, these are pretty great movies :)
