It's also possible that this is playing out how the Director makes decisions on what to do. This could be how it computes the best outcome. It's what came to me at the end of this episode.

I was like, "OH, THIS is where I'd first seen that actress who keeps getting written over. She's on the show 'Manifest' now."

Why didn't the Director send a traveller to the dude on the ground in the truck? Because he wasn't about to die.

Season 1 and Season 2 were an international co-production between Netflix and Canadian specialty channel Showcase and Season 3 was Netflix.
Yes it was cancelled after season 3, one of the actors made a tweet saying goodbye in-character, I can link that once you finish the show.
The general consensus is season 3 works as a series finale but everyone wanted more seasons and were excited what they could do with it. Sadly it doesn't seem Season 4 will happen.

About the paradox.. Even with the show over people are debating what time travel rules are in Travelers, so you have to think about it / theorize yourself.
Is there one or multiple timelines? Some speculate it's the kind of time travel where each change, each traveler sent is techniclly it's own timeline. So even if you go back and kill your grandparents you won't dissapear, because you're not from the same timeline.
There are other theories like someone managing to get the meteor or another alternative between now (team dying) and the future when the director is built.
Ultimately it's up to you to theorize or figure out and I like that.

Maybe you forgot or didn't think about it but the Director only takes over people who were historically about to die. The director didn't take over the guy that was waiting for his 2 skydiving friends because he wasn't going to die. I think only Carrey (the girl) was. So the director sent a traveler into her. Then a few seconds later (because she would fail as we saw) he sends another.
The guy didn't die in the first one, no, but when the director sent a second traveler into Carrey they bumped into each other, knocking him unconsciouss.
