For the crossover, make sure to watch Flash first, then Arrow. It's not as important as watching the crossovers you've already seen in order, but it does matter a bit.

i second that. I think it’s too early to be aa invested in westallen (Barry & Iris) as I am now. I preferred them from the start but where Juli is right now there is just no real spark from Iris’s side yet. I think similarly to olicity she’ll love it once it develops more ;)

I wish that you shipped Westallen, but they’re not really developed yet, and I didn’t even start shipping them until season 2...so nothings set in stone

You asked about Barry vanishing, there was a story in 1982 that was HUGE for the DC Universe called "Crisis on Infinite Earths." In that story, both Barry Allen and Kara Zor-El died and all the Earths in the multiverse combined into one (killing off a TON of other, more minor characters from different Earths also) and giving the one remaining Earth a new timeline and some slight changes to remaining characters' histories. Many of the old characters from different Earths eventually resurfaced, with different backstories and only a select few people remembered the previous realities and multiverse. Both The Flash and Supergirl gave their lives to stop the villain and Barry Allen ran so fast that he disappeared on...a type of treadmill. He dissolved into dust, leaving only his suit. It was very traumatic for me. ;-) This newspaper headline seems to be insinuating something similar. Barry Allen stayed dead and there was another Flash that took over the mantle (Kid Flash became The Flash). Barry didn't come back until over a decade later in a storyline called "Rebirth." I haven't read that story yet, but I have a digital copy of it and plan on reading it 'cause although I love all the iterations of the Flash, Barry Allen is MY Flash. ;-) He's THE MAN.
The guy, Geoff Johns, who brought Barry back in "Rebirth" also wrote one of the greatest Flash stories called "The Flashpoint Paradox." There is an animated feature adaptation of it that I'd suggest you watch (I LOVE it), but not until you get to about S3 of the TV show when you see more of what he can do and his understanding grows. The movie is called "Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox."

Heh, I know you want that kiss, but it'll have to stay in your mental fanfic.
