If you remember, the person who said that Grace took out empathy was 0029, who was The Faction. So, I wouldn't believe what he said that she did. He was trying to mis-characterize what Grace did. Both Grace and Marcy 2.0 have empathy. They just don't show it outwardly in the same way, but you can definitely see it with Marcy that she does care about others and David. She just doesn't have the memories of the 21st to link to deeper emotions. It's just taking her some time to build up the experiences to link to these people. I think of how Marcy acts like how I did after my sister died. I could understand peoples' feelings and emotions but didn't feel them with them. But, I did care about about them and didn't want to see anyone be hurt. That lasted about 2 years for me. Grace, over all I think, has less empathy than most, but she's not a psychopath nor even a sociopath, I don't think. She just cares and believes wholeheartedly in The Director and its mission and that is more important, to her, than any individual.

It was one of the few shows that when the credits and end theme would come up at the end, I'd say, "Only ONE thing wrong with this show...not long enough." xD

Seeing her love/loyalty to the director and how she felt humiliated by what happened. And she finally got her "Thank you for saving me, Grace" from the person (well, A.I.) that means the most to her. That she helped create. That she believes in. I think the end just means that 001 was the one behind killing them and perhaps that he was monitoring that building or room or whathaveyou.

He pretended to be loyal to the director so he could secretly corrupt it. Like they said at the hearing, only one of the lead programmers would be smart enough or knowledgable enough to be able to corrupt the director The director sent those 3 people to the past because It suspected them. Grace was also a suspect but the director said the probability of it being Grace that was secretly a double-agent was very low.
