Season 8 of the vampire diaries had a 1 year time jump after season 7 had the 3 year time jump and season 4 of the originals takes place 1 year after Stefan's death and the destruction of cade's hell. Also, the scene of caroline getting the letter and donation from Klaus after she and alaric starts the new school for the supernatural obviously hasnt happened seeing as how Klaus is still imprisoned. Another thing in case you don't know is that the symbol of the serpent curled up in a circle is called an ouroboros (it's pronounced oro-boros) which is an symbol of infinity. One last thing concerning how hope is a redhead, when you look up the hair color for klaus' actor, some sources say its blonde but others say it's ginger brown so it might be the latter but I remember reading an article somewhere when this episode first aired where julie plec talked about how the hair color didn't matter as long as they had a talented enough actress which worked for nina playing elena because in the books the vampire diaries was based off of, elena had blonde hair and nina clearly didnt
