Computer update!
Added 2019-05-26 18:22:23 +0000 UTCHey guys, quick update, my technician was able to make the video card work again but it might be time to replace it.
I won't have it back until tomorrow and I don't own a back up computer to record anything, I'm really sorry about that.
I will do my best to catch up once my computer it's back and will work hard to build a new and better one.
I was thinking about switching to an iMac since it looks like it's more stable than windows machines, what do you guys recommend?

I would recommend not-a-Mac. They look pretty, but don't have the power that you'll be looking for. Plus, if the video card died on your current computer from it's use with your video encoding, the card in the iMac won't fare much better. Stick with a Windows PC, I think.

2019-05-28 07:13:03 +0000 UTCHi my dear. In my area, Macs are very expensive to own, and very expensive to repair, so I'm not a fan of them. By "in my area", I should mention that I live in Silicon Valley, about 5 miles from Apple Headquarters, and my brother-in-law works for them. And even here, they are expensive to buy, and expensive to repair. Even with my brother-in-laws (very big) employee discounts. That said, the availability of consumer video editing software on Mac is the best, second to none. Especially for people who are not programmers or professional industry editors/renderers. I should probably mention that I'm a systems/network engineer. My old Windows machines turn into Linux machines in the end, and I get at least 5 more years of use out of them that way. I use Davinci Resolve myself (available for Windows, Mac, and Linux), which isn't necessarily the most end-user friendly thing (although quite powerful and feature rich). So with my projects, it doesn't matter to me if it's Windows, Mac, or Linux.

2019-05-26 22:54:27 +0000 UTCI've always heard macs are better than Windows regarding the longevity. I'm not too sure about how they work though. I guess if you use your computer for work purposes. Its best to have the one most efficient.
