I personally only ever saw them as friends, you'll see a little more westallen in a couple episodes and towards the end and then a lot more in season 2

2019-06-11 08:26:34 +0000 UTCIβm with you. Back in the first season I really shipped Barry and Kaitlyn. There were definitely sparks there. I think though that was just the show runners keeping their options open in case they wanted to go in that direction. Like on Arrow when it was supposed to be Oliver and Laurel as endgame but Oliver has such chemistry with Felicity that they chose to go that direction instead.
