Believe or not, vampires and nazis blend together a lot in multiple versions of fiction. In fact, right around the time this was airing, I was watching a super violent anime called Hellsing Ultimate in which the main antagonist were Nazi vampires. And given the fact that The Originals is a much darker show than The Vampire Diaries and that this is the final season, who better for a final big bad than the German death cult that wiped out 6 million people? Plus, who doesn't love watching nazis getting the s**t kicked out if them?
