It's The Leader not The Thinker

Ian Caudillo

The doctor wasn't rich. He worked at a university lab, so it had cobbled together equipment. He wasn't Tony Stark or anything. ;-)

Thadman

I'm not sure they ever found a way to cure Blonsky. They locked him up though, which was what someone alluded to earlier that Coulson threatened Ward with in S1, guarding Blonsky's cell.

Thadman

Oh, one more thing...probably. Blonsky (The Abomination) doesn't change. He's that way permanently now. Also, one thing attribute the Hulk has that The Abomination doesn't is that the angrier the Hulk gets, the stronger he gets. Haha, THAT'S why he beat the Abomination, not "the power of love." xD

Thadman

I'm sorry I'm commenting so much. I like the character and I like this movie (although compared to most Marvel movies, it's on the low end), so I feel like I should inform you of some things about the character, in general, even if nothing done here specifically reverberates in the rest of the movies. If you get the opportunity, you should watch the deleted/extended scenes from the movie 'cause it gives more weight to Ross and his line of thinking, Betty and her relationship with both Banner and her father, even her psychiatrist boyfriend. It's about 30 mins of deleted scenes and, although it'd be a very long movie, I think it'd be a much more well-rounded movie if they'd kept them in.

Thadman

And the doctor (Mr. Blue) becomes a character from the comics called "The Thinker." He's like the opposite of The Hulk. He has green skin also, but a very large head and is super smart.

Thadman

Oh, one of the main through-lines of the Marvel Universe is that Steve Rogers (Captain America) was the only successful version of the "super soldier" ever created. Since then, the government has been trying to replicate it, mostly with disastrous results. It's how a lot of monsters in the Marvel Universe have come into being. Different factions have tried with different results. The Hulk and Blonsky (The Abomination) are just a couple. There were some mentione on AoS also.

Thadman

It's not ALL about "romance". He protects Betty, sure, 'cause he has a connection with her, but you do have to think about The Hulk and Banner as two different people. They are two different personalities and the Hulk HATES Banner and vice versa. Hulk, traditionally protects children also. I'm not sure the Hulk is actually capable of "love", but he does care about some people, who treat him nice or with respect. There are a ton of Easter Eggs in the movie for the comics or old 80s TV. When Betty brought him those big purple pants, that was always what the Hulk would wear, stretchy purple pants in the comics. xD He changes when he gets excited. Adrenaline spikes. So, both positive and negative excitement. He'd be terrible at amusement parks.

Thadman

Also, Blonsky is not agreeing to being The Hulk, the general said Banner's experiments were preliminary but they've made improvements to the "super soldier" serum since then. That's what he agreed to.

Thadman

I feel you kinda misinterpreted the scenes and relationship between Betty and Bruce early on. It was awkward because it's supposed to be. You said he's like a wall, because he's put up a wall. He doesn't have a handle on The Hulk at ALL and that's what he's been working on while looking for a cure and the first time he changed he put her in the hospital and killed some other techs. His whole existence, since then, is him trying to control his emotions and not get at all excited ESPECIALLY around her. You say she's trying too hard, but to her, he just disappeared and she didn't even know he was alive until that day. I didn't find it romantic. I found it just sad. She's trying to understand while he's trying to keep his distance. But, he IS lonely. He's had to become a solitary guy. Before the accident, they were on the road to getting married and then BOOM, abrupt cut off. Of course it's awkward, to say the LEAST.

Thadman

You reminded me, when you mentioned "Kingsman" of "Kick Ass" 'cause both being Mark Milar comics first. Part of the "superhero" genre but more down to earth (in the sense of them being more costumed heroes than a lot of actual high-flying superpowers) and comedic.

Thadman

One of my favorite movies that was before the superhero movie boom. It came out the same year as the first X-Men movie, 2000, and that would be "Unbreakable." It's one of my favorite movies that is of the comic book genre and definitely my favorite M. Night Shyamalan movie. I plan on rewatching it this weekend. Every time I've watched it, I love it.

Thadman

Have you seen "IT" from 2017? If you're looking for a horror movie It's one of my favorites and is a great story with amazing characters, in addition to being a Horror film.

PhillyJ

I have watched la Vita é Bella too many times and cried every single time ! But those are good suggestions. I will also love to react to scary movies. Idk I hate them but I think it will be a good reaction haha

JuliDG

I knew he looked familiar and also they payed too much attention on him to not be important!

JuliDG

😱😱😱 I do remember that now! That's amazing!

JuliDG

Ok I'm confuse now lol

JuliDG

Oh ok. Thanks for telling me 😋

JuliDG

I love how everything connects in this world!

JuliDG

I can't say it's the best movie out there but it helps me understand Bruce as a character. I hope you liked the reaction tho 😋

JuliDG

If you are looking for other movies to watch, I recommend the series of X-men movies, if you have not watched it yet, the 3 movie of the first series is not very good, but I really like the first and the second, and I love all of the new generation hahaha. If you're tired of superhero movies, you might like "kingsman: the secret service". If you want a romance, my favorite will always be "Pride and Prejudice", another one that I really like "Australia", The Romance is not the focus of the movie, the main story is beautiful and the Romance is just a wonderful addition to the movie, I really recommend it. If you want science fiction, my favorite is "Interestrelar". Maybe if you say a type of film that you want, than is easier for me to recommend one to you. If you look for classic movies, I love "Life Is Beautiful (la vita è bella)" and if you wanna cry till the end of time hahaha, but there are several others very good too, I do not know which ones you have already watched hahaha

Carine Allen

The guard he gave the pizza to was played by Lou Ferrigno, who also played the Hulk in the Incredible Hulk TV series around 1980.

Stefan Klement

It's been a while for you, so you probably don't remember this, but in the Season 1 Episode of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." called "T.R.A.C.K.S.", after Coulson finds out that Ward and May have a sexual relationship with each other, he warns Ward that if said relationship would ever (negatively) affect Ward's ability to his job as an Agent, Coulson would personally "send [Ward] to Alaska to guard Blonsky's cell" for the rest of his career at S.H.I.E.L.D. That would be the prison cell of Abomination, then; whom we know from this very movie (and only from this movie).

Ahsim Nreiziev

Maybe you've already seen it, but if you haven't one movie I would suggest in the "non-Superhero genre" is "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". Short summary: the most absurdist movie you're likely to ever see. Also narrated by Stephen Fry, which is always a plus. And I'm afraid I disagree with Freja, in the sense that the first 2 non-MCU Spiderman movies -- and in my opinion the 3rd one as well -- (all by Sam Raimi) are very good, and very Reaction-worthy. There is 1 reason I could see for not wanting to React to it, though, which is that, as you said, the MCU already has 20 movies in it, so I would fully understand if, when you do other movies, you'd want them to not be Superhero movies. But that's up to you.

Ahsim Nreiziev

The only spiderman that is in the mcu universe, is the one from Spiderman: Homeoming (2017), so you shouldnt watch the others, since they have no attachment to the universe or the rest of the movies :)

Freya

Had to comment while watching.. Culver University in this movie is the same one that Dr. Garner (Mr. May) worked at in AOS.

Calculatus Eliminatus

haha, I'm quite shocked that you liked this movie... I don't like it at all! Every time I rewatch the MCU movies I always skip it XD! but just like you said, This is your first experience with the MCU and although a lot of people don't like this movie, everyone has still watched it at least once. So I'm glad that you watched it so you could experience it for yourself and get the full MCU experience :)
