You got to remember without magic, syphoners are just regular humans, so they're not your typical witch, I think the writers played it well and made it work without it being too confusing. Imaging Kai as a Heretic alone is scary just imagine what 100+ year old vampires with constant magic would be like

I totally will give it a chance. I was just confused since for 6 seasons we been told it was impossible so it kinda annoyed me BUT it does seem like a powerful move. Specially if Kai becomes a vampire lol

When Jo said "Imagine Kai as a vampire, and now imagine six of them" I got shivers. I get what you're saying about the Witch/Vampire hybrid thing. So maybe you think of Siphoners as the Travelers, they have a lot of aspects of witches but with an extra kick making them a different species. So they are a new supernatural entity making the rules different. Obviously it's a bit of a cheap way but they are definitely a new fresh thing for the show. Hopefully you enjoy it which I have a STRONG feeling you will.

I agree, Matt is really an ass. Elena DIED to protect him becoming something else, for her to live her life with a friend who hates her. Everyone has a reason to hate vampires, even those who actually are, but then they remember that vampires are also the ones who have tried to save him many times. Bonnie, should despise each and everyone of them, he should go to her for advice because what he is saying seems so hypocritical.

The heretic thing works because witches are servants of nature and vampires an abomination. Siphoners are abominations of nature too because they´re kind of "broken witches". It´s a loophole but it does make sense to an extent

Of course Matt used them to his advantage before but that´s what he doesn't want to do anymore. I used to think it was stupid because he refused to Elena wanting to save his life but it´s actually really admirable

A lot of people disliked this newest retcon of their history. Not as bad as retconning Tatia being the original dopplganger but still disliked lol

Well Hope is a witch/werewolf/vampire tribid Juli so I think the siphoned witch/vampire thing does make sense as there are always loopholes in nature so I’d say just go with it and hopefully you wouldn’t mind the idea of them as the show goes on

I'll also add that Lillian Salvatore is a TERRIBLE mother.....She damaged both Damon and Stefan....Especially Damon....Damon may have a tough and snarky exterior but inside he is truly damaged....He's evolved so much from his season 1 self this ep highlights how he was the one to take care of Stefan when they were kids abandoned by their mother to be left with an abusive father....You'll get more backstory on this in season 7....What makes Damon so interesting is the layers/backstory regarding his character....Lily has done a lot of damage to him as a human he did nothing but carry that damage over after he turned which only enhanced.

Damon has done a lot of growing.....Him not telling Elena about the cure had nothing to do with not growing up....It had everything to do with his insecurities.....Damon once spent 50 odd years void of all humanity and personal connection, deemed as the black sheep, his father hated him....Mother faked her death and started over with heretics she considers "new family" and she never stopped by to clear things up with Damon or Stefan, pining for a woman who never loved him, got him killed for her own amusement etc....All of that does nothing but add up causing Damon to be broken and damaged. His mother was the FIRST woman to break his heart, Katherine the 2nd....Elena is truly the first woman to repair so much damage....And it's not that Damon doesn't want Elena to have the cure....Remember he was the one who planned on giving it to her while he was locked away in the prison world....Damon's issue is he is allowing his insecurities and his fear of losing Elena to completely take over....The issue isn't Stefan anymore....It's Elena leaving him and starting a human life elsewhere. You'll see more of this in latter eps.

There not a regular witch. There syphoners a different thing a whole new breed of species which comes with new rules. So a regular witch cannot be a vampire bu a magic syphoner can be turned into a vampire when they are not siphoning magic but the use magic when they turn cause they can syphon themselves. Therefore the writers are not breaking any rules they are simply bringing a new type of character into a show that's has such a long run where it needs new fresh ideas to keep ppl entertained.
