TVD 6x22 FULL REACTION

Sadly this was the last episode you saw of Nina. She was really saying goodbye to all of the cast and those were their real tears in those final moments with Nina.

This episode was SO depressing when I first watched it....There really was no win win situation here for any of the characters involved.....Damon chose to decapitate Kai, save Bonnie while Elena would remain asleep putting the life they planned out together ie marry and have kids on a long pause. Just thinking back to when Damon told Elena in 2x18 with his "if it comes down to you and the witch again I will gladly let Bonnie die, I will always choose you" speech to NOW is amazing to see just how much Damon has grown....And he didn't need Elena's assistance to make this decision  himself....He simply went by HIS instinct and did what HE felt was right. And I LOVE what Stefan told Caroline....It's true Elena didn't come into Stefan's life to be his soulmate....Stefan came into Elena's life at a time where she NEEDED someone to help her get over her parents death after she got over that aspect in her young life she was ready to be with Damon....This often goes unnoticed but Elena struggled with severe survivors guilt during those first 3 seasons...She lost herself after she transitioned and the ONLY person who made her feel alive again was Damon....She originally gave up the cure to spend an eternal one with Damon......Damon made vampirisim bearable for Elena.....Which showcases how Damon has ALWAYS been Elena's destiny. We've seen them both lose themselves, we've seen them both struggle and grow with vampirisim, we've seen them both revel in darkness, we've seen how Delena overcame the sirebond, memory loss, the act of letting the other go, the universe pulling the doppelgangers together, death, the cure and now THIS....Elena being cursed with a spell that binds her life to Bonnie's her best friend. Delena's journey has never been easy.....Any sort of happiness for Delena had been instantly cut short but this felt like the final blow...2015 was such a depressing year for the Delena fandom....Nina leaving the show, a devastated Damon and afraid of how the writers would sell their story while one half remained asleep. We've seen Elena's reaction after she lost Damon...How she went off the deep end, became destructive with witch herbs to hallucinate his presence because the only person she felt that could help her mourn his loss was him even if it stemmed from her subconscious....Losing Damon was something Elena never got over she went to drastic measures having Alaric alter ever good memory to forget that she ever loved him because the pain of never seeing him again was unbearable. Now we'll see how Damon reacts to losing Elena throughout season 7....Before there was always some witchy work around, alternative options, the gang coming together to defeat said purposes etc....Losing Elena to a supernatural curse that binds her life to Bonnie's with NO witchy work arounds or alternatives? Will be interesting to say the least. I frankly didn't enjoy season 7 as much.....To me Elena was the soul of TVD....The main female protagonist that brought Damon and Stefan together, her presence is what kept the characters together in one way or another...Having her gone was like a different show. I loved Damon's backstory in season 7 however...Introducing different dynamics for his character and we find out so much more about him ie his childhood, the abuse he's suffered at the hands of his father, the rocky relationship he has with his brother, tested friendships, Elena's remaining influence over his decisions/choices etc...One thing you never have to worry about with Damon is his die hard loyalty......He will wait for Elena. Watching this was so hard for me Juli....I was just like you during my first watch.....I'd recommend watching video fan edits of Delena....Delena fandom is extremely talented and captures their beautiful journey in such a complex and passionate way even moreso than the actual writers. Loved this reaction btw <3

In my opinion season 7 is really interesting, you get to know some stuff about Stefan and Damon and other characters that you didn't know before.

I was hoping for a more in depth review on Elena's character but I know she wasn't your favorite so I get it. But if made me smile seeing you cry for Elena because, just like a lot of us, you've had your ups and downs with the character and I didn't know if you liked her so it was nice to see you appreciate her for something outside of Delena.

I remember one live stream I saw someone say "Nina leaves the show after season 6" and Juli read it and I, as a moderator, hated myself for not getting to it quicker but now that I know she forgot about it I feel better. Now i just hope there's nothing more like that. Now that season 6 is over there is not really that much that can be spoiled anymore other than the season finale OBVIOUSLY as is is the last episode. But let's be on the lookout guys and make sure Jui doesn't see anything spoilery,

Yes, unfortunately this is Nina last episode. She had decided to leave after I her 6 year contract because she wanted to persue more film roles. We as an audience found out the information before this episode so we knew it was coming. I think the sleeping beauty storyline they used was best because we didn't want her to die just because the actress decided to not continue with the series. I was really upset when I heard the news because I couldn't imagine what would happen to my ship Delena.

LOL FINALLY but yeah, this is the nina's last episode and also tyler lockwoods (can't imagine you'd be sad about the latter tho), next couple seasons have mixed reviews from people. personally i liked season 7 and season 8 A LOT, they did a good job and i feel like you get to know the other characters better, but some people still felt sad without elena, but tbh we all did at some point bc she's always been such a huge part. anyway, can't wait for the bloopers and everything else related to season 7 next month! :)

I heard that she left because Ian and Nikki got together at this point. She was good friends with Nikki and she got with her ex(ian) I’m not sure if it’s 100% true tho

I remember reading an interview Nina did after this episode aired she said she wanted to explore different roles and didn't want to be known only as Elena I was sad because I love Elena but I was also happy for Nina cause it was obvious she wanted to leave and try different roles and she did
