Agent Carter One Shot REACTION

Comments

If you recall, Juli, on the series, Peggy did do almost everything on her own. Jarvis helped her a bit in S1 (and more in S2, which was definitely more a group effort since she had people on her side then), mostly to give her rides and bounce some banter off of, but almost everything (especially everything mission related) she figured out and was doing on her own. They showed others in the S.S.R. but they weren't helping her out and mostly were shown to tell the audience that they were on the wrong track and Peggy was figuring things out correctly. But, they also were there to show that just because they were going in the wrong direction, doesn't mean they were stupid. It's just that Peggy thought differently and was more savvy and, because of the time period, they underestimated her. You're right though that they can't have a whole series with only one or two characters. All shows that are titled after one character still have others in it to fill it out (Wynonna Earp, Nikita, Buffy, Angel, etc.) It's never JUST about the one character. It works for a One-Shot, but not a series. The main problem was ABC not having faith in the series (much like AoS). They had even less faith in it and it was a struggle for AoS since S3 for it to come back. Every year it's always "on the bubble" not 'cause it's not good or liked, but because ABC, for some reason, keeps wanting to get rid of it, but it was harder to do 'cause it was more directly linked to the current movies than Agent Carter, which they could write off easier as a "period piece that nobody cares about." That's not an actual quote of someone, just what I remember one of the arguments against it was. Marvel sees the popularity of AoS also and really pressures ABC to stick with it. I guess Agent Carter was a bit more niche. Many people didn't even know about it.
