Before felicity came along I tried to ship laurel and oliver because they seemed to be the only option but I couldn't. I have nothing against laurel, I like her as a character but not with oliver. The main reason why I could never ship them is because I believe they were both in love with the idea of the other. For instance laurel was in love with ollie but it's oliver who came back from the island, and oliver wasn't willing to let her in and discover the man he had become. Although to be honest I think that even in the past, those two weren't compatible, I mean ollie cheated on her many times and she chose to look past it, she grasped on the idea of the man she thought ollie could be instead of who he actually was, and she deserved better. For oliver I think that when he came back, yes he still had feelings for her but again I think it was more about what she represented, his past. For five years laurel was of the the things that kept him going and I believe that during that time he may have idealized their relationship. On the other hand felicity knows oliver, both oliver queen and the arrow and because she met him after the island she has no bias, she doesn't expect him to be the man he used to be, she accepts who he is now because it's the only version she knows which in my option opens the path to a much healthier relationship. Anyway sorry that was such a long post haha, great reaction!

2018-08-31 08:43:49 +0000 UTCi don't wanna spoil anything but trust me, olicity isn't an easy ship, at all 😂 for me one of the many reasons why i never liked oliver with laurel is that i always thaught oliver was never in love with her. he cared about her, of course, but he never really loved her. he cheated on her with other women even her own sister. you don't do this if you really love someone. i think for oliver was more the idea of laurel than anything else. laurel instead loved him but she deserved better than this. i liked them as friends. for oliver and felicity, well, you'll see XD
