2018-09-30 01:55:17 +0000 UTCThe end credit scene is merely an obscure Easter Egg for the comic character of Howard the Duck. Since it was made as a thing of it's own, the movie plays as something completely of its own and the end credit scene does not connect to any other Marvel movies (like the others are as teasers for the next movie). Thanos was the only connection, but people didn't know who he was from seeing the end credit scene from The Avengers (if you hadn't read the comics). In this, you see him and find out his name is Thanos. That's really the only connection to the previous films. The Collector said, when explaining the Infinity Stones, that one time a group of people were able to hold and share the power of a stone for a brief time, so that is also how the Guardians were able to wield the stone for a short enough time to use it to get rid of Ronan.

The first was the Tesseract, the blue cube that Red Skull used to make energy weapons for Hydra and that Loki used to open the portal to Thanos' Chitauri fleet over New York in Avengers. The second was in Loki's scepter, given to him by Thanos and enabling him to control minds, also in Avengers. The third was the Aether from Thor: The Dark World that bonded with Jane. Malekith wanted to throw the universe back into darkness with it and Lady Sif gave it to the Collector after that. There are six stones in total as we learned in this movie, so we are only missing two.

Kree and Inhumans being the main focus of season 2 so loose connection to kree
