As a parent, I'm sure you can understand why Alfred made the move to protect Bruce - think about it, the last time Bruce tried to poke his nose into everything, Alfred warned him that they might end up dead in a ditch somewhere and look what happened - Alfred ended up stabbed and nearly died - the threat they face is very real and Alfred made a promise to Thomas Wayne to protect his son --- we might know that Bruce is eventually gonna be Batman and that it's his destiny, but Alfred doesn't, he can't see into the pre-determined future - all he can do is protect Bruce in the here and now and try to keep him away from everything - Bruce might one day be Batman, but to Alfred, he's still just a kid. A kid that he has to protect. As the responsible parental unit, he has to keep him away from danger, he has to at least try. Willingly allowing a 13 year old to take on some dark dangerous organization is irresponsible for a parental figure after all.
