I think I understand what is happening but I'm probably wrong haha

AOS 5x08 FULL REACTION

so I'll explain this because I think you did not understand what they wanted to explain in this episode. So, it is not hapening all at the same time, it is a loop. The timeline that exists is as follows: 1 - robin foresees the end of the world, 2 -the team is sent into the future to fulfill the prophecy (at this point the team has no idea what is happening, as we saw in the beginning of the season), 3- the team arrives in the future, learns about the end of the world, Daisy, destroyer of worlds, etc ..... 4- So somehow they find a way back to the past (at this point of the season, we still have no idea how this happens or who make it back), 5- they try to prevent the end of the world, but the destroyer of worlds ends up breaking the Earth anyway, 6- those who survived go to the lighthouse, 7- at least 90 years pass to the point of the future in which this episode passes, that is, the team is already dead, either because they were killed or because of old age, since even Robin, who was a little child, is already very old, that's when: 1- the team comes from the past, 2- the team learn about the prophecy ........ and everything repeats itself, just as the "Flashback Fitz" speaks to May in this episode, that they already tried to prevent it many times, but every time they go back to their time and try to change what happens, it ends up happening the same way and earth is destroyed, no matter what they do. So, that is why the ''Flashback Fitz "speaks with so much anger, because of his experience, the future can not be changed.

Once again, Enoch doesn't time travel, he's just from another planet...and a non-organic being. He lives and exists in regular linear time, like the rest of us. Robin told him about the future, but not all the details, just that there's an extinction level event and SHIELD can stop it and how to get them to the future. He doesn't even know where the time monolith came from. So, Enoch never went back in time nor forward in time.

One thing Robin's mom, Polly, said to Fitz in 2018 at the Lighthouse when talking about how she went through terragenesis and now she's sees all time at once so she's rarely ever present. They speculated because she was so young when she went through terragenesis that, basically, she wasn't...fully cooked? ;-) You're not supposed to go through it before a certain age. I guess the process was made to work with humans after adolescence. Anyway, her visions and her memories are essentially the same thing. She's always living in them and doesn't really get when she's a young girl or an old woman.

Thank you Juli! This amazing suprise gave me life ;) Just, please remeber that if you want to end this show before the end of the year, MAYBE it will be a good idea to reach Avengers Infinity War, because of MAYOR things.

There is such a parallel storyline in this episdoe - May finding Robin again that ends with Robin dying - Deke trying to find his father only to end with his father dying - the loss of a child, and the loss of a parent and as for Deke, the math would make it impossible for Deke to be a son of any of our team - Robin was a child in 2018 and she's already now an old woman, anyone from our 2018 time living to 2091 would have to be well over 100 years old, and Deke himself is maybe between the ages of 25 to 31 at best, there's no way Bobbi/Hunter or even FitzSimmons had a son at an old age given menopause in women. Deke could only be Hunter or Fitz's son with some much younger woman, if he even is a son.

I've been so excited to see you react to this episode since it's one of my favorite episodes of all time. I cry every time I see Robin calling May mom, it's just so beautiful. Awesome reaction as always!

Michayla Craig

about Deke, it's the year 2091 and he's around the age of 30 maybe, so it's hard for him to be anyones son from our time

time travel storylines are always confusing and almost impossible to explain because they always create some sort of plot hole. But i think they tried to explain in this episode that they are in a constant time loop. So they got taken away when they last were seen together (in the diner) and from then on they lived through this story a lot of times trying to save the world (that's what Fitz said to May when he was talking about Jemma's death). So they travel to the future and somehow make it back and try to save the world from whatever happend but they fail and all the shit happens again and again. At least that's how they explain it up until this point of the season and that's how i understood it at the time when i watched the episode for the first time.

Woah, haha! I never put that together. I'd always considered May and Coulson her "parents" but never noticed the ethnicities matchup.

Rob Flynn

Thank you Juli for all your hard work getting these reactions out for us! I feel so spoiled getting two episodes in one day lol.

Juli, I recommend you watch the first 5 minutes of 5x1 over again. Everybody was doing it after this episode. Robin has already seen this whole season and she posted it on Enoch's refrigerator. This is not a spoiler because nobody could figure them out. These crayon drawings didn't mean anything when we first saw them but now we know they serve a purpose. You don't get the meaning or the full emotional punch until the season's over.

Becky White

I just want to clear one thing up about your theory juli. Those flashbacks are set in a time where the team already went into to the future and came back. All your other theories are the same theories we had when watching but all will be revealed. That may scene always just stabs me in the feels. She finally got to have a daughter :) thanks for the double dose of shield!!!

I didn't realize it until I saw this season and I feel really stupid, but Daisy's biological parents are the exact same ethnicity as May and Coulson who are basically her adopted parents.

My brain was melting when I watched this episode for the first time.
