AoS 5x18 FULL REACTION

I had to re edit this entire reaction to add the audio from the episode.

I'm currently doing the same for 517.

Ruby is terrible but she ships FitsSimmons so she can't be that bad

Christopher Nicholas

Now this is the real debate we need to focus on lol

How does Mack fit his arms into his shirts?

Rob Flynn

Deke is the lighthearted humor of an otherwise very dark storyline. They need him to break up the seriousness of everything going down. He is the outsider watching the team fall to pieces. It's kinda of genius actually how the writers wrote his part in. Plus he is annoying. Trying to get Daisy to notice him, having a schoolboy crush. Being the odd man out since everyone else has known each other for years now. Talbot is one of the best recurring characters on the show, one of great character growth and learning.

Nanci Fenstermaker

Talbot's story is the saddest, Hydra had him for 6 months, he held out for 6 months waiting for SHIELD to come find him, he believed in Coulson and the team and they just never showed, he could only hold out for so long, especially given his brain damage. Deke is a dork but sometimes I think the team teasing him and kinda looking at him as this weird outsider/annoyance kinda annoys me. He's the reason this team is still alive, at least twice. He deserves slightly more credit. I wish they explore more of the sadder parts of his story because it always feels like the team doesn't take him seriously as they should. And as for the whole Ruby thing, I understand YoYo did it because not only was it revenge, but also she saw Ruby as a threat and wasn't going to trust her. But to Daisy, she saw Ruby as a kid who is only the way she is because of how she was raised - I think Daisy of all people knows how important parental figures can be in influencing how you grow up - she was lucky to have Coulson and May, but Ruby only had Hale, and Daisy doesn't want to kill a kid.

Artemis9991

I can agree with that.

Christopher simeon

Everyone has their own opinion but bottom line is that Ruby had to die. She wasn’t stable before and was worse once she came out of the chamber. I know Shield save lives but YoYo saves a bunch of lives even their own by killing her.

This season is suuuuuch a grey area in terms of everybody's choices. I find myself not agreeing with anybody 100% of the time. I think the writing does a great job of pointing out the pros and cons of everybody's decisions and mentalities, which makes it all the much harder to choose who you would side with if you had to follow one person. I think they all have really great points in what they're doing and what they're trying to justify but all of them are also going about it wrong. Like I said, really love the writing for this arc.

Ritchie

also she went in completly blind about the mission whatsoever. She didnt know Hale was cooperating with them, she didnt know what was going on at all. By acting out of impulse she ended a life and made a huge decision for the team without any background knowledge. Instead of having a valuable ally in Hale (and possibly Ruby), now they have her as an enemy again. May and FitzSimmons should have stoped her or at least told her what was going on before letting her go.

Originally i was 99,9% Team Daisy on this one, Yoyo didnt save the world, she brought the world one step closer to the end by turning Hale against Shield. Now Hale helps the Confederancy (not sure about the spelling :D). And she didnt even think about it, she wasnt part of the whole mission, she missed almost everything and just went in without any information and makes a decision about life and death only out of emotion and revenge. The only thing that changed my mind to only being 90% on Daisy's side is what Hale said earlier in the episode, which is that Ruby would have probably killed FitzSimmons after she goes into the chamber anyways. But other than that Yoyo had no right to do this especially in the way she did it. By knowing stuff about the future and trying to save everything, she only makes it worse.

Sascha Koch

Yoyo straight up murdered Ruby for revenge. And look where it got her. And she murdered here in a gruesome way in front of her mother. No the ends does not justify the means. It didn't justify what Fitz did to Daisy and it doesn't justify what YoYo did to Ruby. I;m team Daisy/May all the way.

Nanci Fenstermaker

it makes sense tho. Cuz they literally said they were never going to choose anything or anyone over each other it might be hypocritical but its been a theme of their characters the whole time. They will always do everything in their power to protect each other even if its dangerous or can get people hurt. Just like when Fitz was trying to get Jemma back from Maveth, he was doing stuff that was dangerous and could get people hurt but he doesnt think about it when it came to Jemma. So people saying it was out of character really werent paying attention and I know you didnt say that.

Macy

Idk where to stand in the whole killing Ruby thing. I think Yoyo was right and justified in killing her, but I also kinda see Daisy's point of view. Idk this whole season caused so much tension in the fandom lol. But I do know one thing, and I know nobody will agree with me on this because it's "fitzsimmons", but they were such big hypocrites this episode in my opinion. Jemma justified what Fitz did to Daisy as "needed to be done" and "we need to make harder choices for the sake of the world", but when it came down to their safety (even though they were talking so big about that if they die, they break the loop), they couldn't make that "hard" choice, and instead fixed the machine that was believed to cause everything this episode. Idk I found it so hypocritical. I guess everyone sees it differently and i'm not trying to attack or force my opinion on anyone, I hope it doesn't come off that way.

A lot of people were against Yoyo killing Ruby but I was 100% fine with it. Than again the invincible three are my three fav characters! lol

Macy

Thanks. You work so hard for us. Can't thank you enough. Will have a look at the episode later. Thanks again.
