We had this platonic relationship with Stefan and Caroline for a long time, but then they had to take it to a romantic route and while, yes, they do have chemistry and work as a romantic couple, I really missed the platonic love between the two of them. So for Bamon to show that there can be a platonic love between man and woman was really amazing!

I mean they´ re both so hot and have great chemistry but the fact that they don´ t go there makes their friendship even stronger to me. I mean there´ s so much love between them and I appreciate how Damon can say things like "I admire you and I love you" and it is out of pure platonic love. It makes their bond so much stronger to me. I also think it would´ ve kind of been a disservice to Bonnie´ s character if she started dating her best friend´ s boyfriend while she was in a coma. I know Elena wants him to be happy but it´ s still weird and it doesn´ t seem like Bonnie would do that...

2019-01-18 15:47:14 +0000 UTCin fact I do not think Caroline still hates Damon, but she likes to make some jokes and insinuations, but she knows that Damon is not evil, so much so that at the end of this episode we see her admitting that the hero of the day was Damon. I think at that time she was just making a joke to try to reassure Stefan, even Damon himself makes jokes at the idea of it being bad hahaha
