I have to side with Peyton on this one. Not sorry. I Love Brook down but watching this again as an adult in my late 30s with a more mature mindset than I had when this show first aired I have to admit that Brook was 100% in the wrong for even pursuing a relationship with Lucas knowing full well how he and Peyton felt about each other. IDC how many times my bestfriend said she didn't care or "he's fair game" Nope, I know my bestfriend well enough to know when she's lying. She knew full well Lucas told Peyton that he wanted "Everything" with Peyton. Because Peyton told her. There is no way I would have set myself up for that heartbreak. While Lucas and Peyton were also wrong for how they went about things after he started dating Brook we have to acknowledge Brooks part in this. She literally dared Peyton to Kiss Lucas to show how she "Really felt" so we can't pretend that Brook didn't know how her Bestfriend felt regardless of what Peyton may have said out of her mouth. She knew what it was.

2019-03-05 21:01:24 +0000 UTCI can't blame Brooke for being so angry at Lucas and Peyton. She trusted both of them and the way they betrayed her and kept going behind her back is pretty lousy. As Brooke's best friend Peyton should've known better, but I also didn't like how Lucas was the one who wanted to keep on kissing each other when Peyton clearly said she didn't want to hurt Brooke more than what they already had. Also, I don't know if you already know this, but all of the episodes are named after songs.

Nathan starts out as an asshole because of the influence of his father but as he finds his independence there's so much more to him and he becomes a nicer and more respectable person overall. But Luke is the exact opposite with the influence of his mother and family, he's a great person, but as he found his independence he became an ass and very much like Nathan used to be. After some time Lucas would find himself again, but it's very telling of how big parents can influence their children and how they act. It's also quite ironic.

People love to defend Leyton (although I saw it a lot more back in the day when OTH was still airing rather than these days) and it just makes no sense to me. Yeah, okay, you shipped them more or whatever but that doesn't mean they weren't both cheating assholes who hurt and traumatized one of the most important people in their lives. It seems like they just want instant forgiveness and that just aggravates me even more, as if Brooke is in the wrong for shutting them out for so long. Leyton really got off on the wrong foot for me and honestly, to this day, I still don't like them together and this is probably a big reason why
