I think the film hints at Captain K helping Jojo even back in the pool scene, every time I see it not it seems more and more like he was warning Jojo about snitching on his mother. Then at the end you see him and Finkel wearing the inverted pink triangles that the Nazis used to put on homosexual men at concentration camps. It was like "yeah, we'll die for Germany but you will all have to acklowledge who we were and what we felt". I really love this film. Gracie has great taste.
