See to me Jacob DOES have the right to bring up his concerns especially since this is the second daughter that is willfully breaking law and he is technically right that Mary has no authority to run a clinic like this and she is basically experimenting with humans like she did with the Desert Rose. In fact, the Desert Rose is solid proof that Mary has conducted human experiments in some capacity. Does that make Mary wrong? No, but it does also bring up a concern of what happens if Mary gets something wrong. She could accidentally get someone killed or accidentally alter their body and then there’s nothing she can do for them. There’s no insurance, no licenses to back her up and she could easily go to prison with one mistake because of that. Jacob already “lost” two of his daughters one way or another, so he’s clinging onto Mary because he doesn’t want to lose her too.
Angelique does annoy me a tiny bit but I also understand where she’s coming from. Sometimes it’s no so simple to just walk away and Ryan also did break her trust, but that doesn’t mean Ryan is in the wrong either and it doesn’t mean that Angelique is right either. I do like Alice and Ocean’s dynamic though. As for the the kryptonite thing, technically speaking only Kate really knew about Kara. The others never really met Kara and don’t really have contact with her and even then they don’t really know to contact them or know that Lena or Alex would know any of that because they have no affiliation or acquaintances with them. They only know about Kara through Kate and since Kate is gone they don’t really know about Kara at all.
