I think I might be the one person in the fandom that lowkey dug what they were trying to do with the threesome lol. I totally get why it made people uncomfortable, though. I mean Carina really was pushing this love triangle thing, so that thing WAS very annoying. But I'm all for a good poly relationship, in general. At the end of the day I still legit don't know how I feel about it.

I do get that it was a way of showing like these are the two people in the entire world that Alex feels so safe and loved with and he was chasing that feeling and maybe he needed it to get over some of his internalized homophobia but .... it was hard to watch. My poor Alex :(

I mean, she wanted Alex to be okay with her being with Michael 100% and that's why she was like if we all have sex and feel safe with each other then we're cool. For Alex I think it was the final nail on the coffin with Michael. Now they're absolutely over.

I was personally not a fan of it -- it had been leaked that there was gonna be a threesome before it aired and it certainly wasn't as bad as I imagined it would be but I personally was not a fan. I know the actress who plays Maria also said some stuff in interviews that I don't think she meant in a bad way but I just didn't love how she said it. Like, I think she said that the reason Maria really went through with it was because she was insecure about Michael and she wanted to know that Michael would choose her over Alex and that was just really awful to read imo. It made me like her a little bit less as a character if that is what the motivation was, you know? But it is what it is.
