Yes, they go to dark places and deal with death several times (including the miscarriage), BUT killing off the 15 year old son is a whole other level and you'd have to completely focus all the storylines around the grief or otherwise it would be unbelievable.

2021-06-28 10:13:37 +0000 UTCYes, I bet they'd have resolved that cliffhanger differently if the actor didn't decide to leave the show. But this way they could only do a time jump, I guess. But season 3 is one of the best, if not the best season of The Fosters - so enjoy the ride :)

2021-06-28 08:19:24 +0000 UTCI think what happened is that sometime late Season 2 Jake T Austin (Jesus) wanted to leave the show, so the writers were deciding what to do about that. I think during the finale of Season 2 they probably thought of killing Jesus, but for Season 3 they changed their mind and decided to go about recasting instead which is where this 3A storyline comes from. The transition isnβt great, but it was more so functional.

2021-06-28 05:53:42 +0000 UTCNo spoilers, but there is a reason it was formatted this way. Jesus's storyline is kind of like Ruby Rose's in the sense it has to do with recasting. I won't say what that will end up being like, but yeah there's a reason why Noah is on the cover and why Jesus's storyline wasn't the immediate followup. because I believe they were still deciding on who would replace Jesus at the time. Much like CW was deciding who would replace Kate Kane in Batwoman.
