I'm torn on the Kate situation. If they were going to recast, they could've just done that to begin with. If they were going to write the character off, they could've just done that to begin with. While the storylines for Ryan, Sophie, Mary, Luke, and Alice made sense, Kate's didn't really jive well with me. It's like they didn't really have a plan for most of the season and made it up as they went along. That being said, the acting this season was definitely bumped up a notch. Javicia did an amazing job with a very difficult situation. And Rachel deserves all the awards. About the stuff floating the river at the end. It was the Mad Hatter's hat, Penguins' umbrella, and a vine from Poison Ivy, with the implication that we'll see her next season and that she may be Ryan's mother.

2021-06-29 14:07:23 +0000 UTCnah I'm glad Kate's gone, hopefully now they can actually treat Ryan like the lead she is, this whole season was Ryan's introductory season and it focused more on Kate than it did her. also the way racists tried to push Ryan/Javicia out as soon as Wallis was casted, they don't deserve a win and I mean with Kate out of the picture... more chance for Wildmoore endgame! 🤪 jgkdffg

They got rid off Kate because they foresaw that people will be angry and say things like “oh you replaced the black women with a white women” and accuse the team behind the BATWOMAN show of being racist. Even if they were to team up and take turns being BATWOMAN or both being heroes and at the same time , most likely people will be angry and feel the black girl/women is being sidelined in favor of the white women. In summary: maybe they are afraid of being accused of being racist if they remove or sideline the black women in favor of the white women. For me personally I love that they gave Kate a proper exit obviously I would love for her to come back walis did a fantastic job playing Circe and Kate. I grew to love Ryan and her dynamic with the team this season and love her as BATWOMAN and can’t wait to see Luke’s future as batwing.
