Oh I can believe he doesn't want his son bullied because that would go back on him as a father. He just has all the wrong ideas and is making it all about himself as Donald pointed out. He doesn't want to be the father of a bullied kid and he also doesn't want to be the father of what he sees as the "weird" kid. I mean just take out the factor that Connor's gay for a moment. The dude still spanks his teenager and makes him do things that he doesn't want to do in the first place. Even if Connor wasn't gay, he would still have problems with his son not being the guy he wants him to be.
