I’ve been dealing with a lot this week in my personal life. Feeling invalidated by my own family and friends. Reaching out for help was the right move but in the process of doing that I thought it was a good idea to log onto my YouTube account and read some of my latest comments and all I saw was ppl calling me disgusting for shipping a non canon ship! Saying that bc of ppl like me the LGBT+ community can’t have good representation. So basically invalidating my feelings once again!
It’s annoying! I am up for a conversation! I enjoy ppl who disagree with me I have the best conversations when that happens bc it allows me to see outside of my POV and really understand what others might think!
I can’t tell you how many times I have chatted with my friend Maria and we sometimes disagree completely about characters or shows or situations and we can go on for hours just trying to see each other’s POV but always been respectful and not trying to just change each other’s perspective but rather take something from our POV!
Those are the types of conversations I like! Those are the conversations I have with a lot of you here as well! And all of it it’s based on respect!
That’s all I ask! But no, today Twitter decided once again that I am not allowed to think differently. I’m not cool bc I don’t follow what everyone else does. Twitter and that fandom has a beloved character and I happen to like the character they hate the most! So… I’ve been called disgusting! That I over sexualize characters! It was honestly a lot!
BUT I might not know yet how to make myself believe that I am worthy on respect in my personal life but YouTube and social media is suppose to be a safe space for me! So I’m not going to allow them to take that from me! Maybe this is a first step!
I don’t feel 100% like myself yet. This past few days have helped a lot. And I even think this awful moment on Twitter has helped me as well! I need to stop feeling like I am not worthy of respect for my opinions! Specially when I am not hurting anyone for shipping a couple of a tv show!
My voice matter. My opinion matters. This is my safe space! I’m not going to censor myself in order to make them like me! I’m not going to say a nice thing about a character when I don’t like them! I’m not going to try to please everyone bc that’s literally impossible! I just have to be me and Ik most of you who are here joined this place bc of that! Bc I am who I am! You guys saw something that made you support me both on Yotutube and Patreon. So I have to honor that!
With all my flaws and my annoying voice! My screams! My OCD! My awful jokes and everything else... This is me! ❤️

Twitter is toxic and full of fake woke people who will try to shame you for just breathing because it makes them feel better about themselves to criticize and insult others. You should get very familiar with the block option if you decide to stay on there.

I don't care for the socials besides youtube and a little of instagram so I'm not familiar with Twitter or Facebook. I bet the majority of the people that are commenting these awful things are immature children. These are like 12 and 14 year old mean girls that have limited world experience and can only relate to the fantasy of video games and these wonderful tv shows that we all love. The difference between them and us is that they can't yet separate that fantasy from reality so they put all their passion into what makes them feel more, hence the hateful comments. (Did that make sense? In my head that made sense.) I'm not trying to make excuses for their behavior because it's not acceptable at all. I just don't want you to take them seriously because they are not serious people. If these are indeed adults that are attacking you then they are just pathetic. Please know that we love you and appreciate you sharing your experiences with us. No matter what these trolls say you will always have support here on Patreon.

You have the homophobes on one side, the straight shippers on the other, the LGBT fans who love to police people into sticking to canon because they believe you wanting something different will make the straight people behind the scenes disgusted with every LGBT fan, the LGBT fans who ship different from you and the own minority of your own fandom that is actually toxic but everyone always blows up to point out how shippin so and so means *you* are toxic. I just don't have the energy to deal with all that. Truth is that when straight people ship a non canon pairing nobody makes a big deal out of it and when too many people ship a non canon straight pairing there's a posibility that the characters will get together. It is what it is right now, hopefully we'll see changes soon but I'm not holding my breath.

Or I'm fucked up for liking more darker characters, ect. Trauma survivors always speak to me. The important thing is that these people aren't really your friends, or even fellow mutes! They are strangers on the internet, and the internet has gotten FAR nastier with pandemic going on. People are REALLY using Covid to be an excuse to be downright nasty, and rude. Ignore them, and stay in your lane. Karma will affect them, in the end. And you, for good things! I firmly believe that! You reap what you sow.

We love you and this community that you created is really important for us, it should remain a safe space for you to voice your opinions, we all want that. We’re here to hear your voice and exchange with you and each other in respect of everyone. People on social medias can be so toxic at times (and seriously chill people, shows and ships are supposed to be fun!!!), I don’t know if there’s something to be done on YT, but on Twitter don’t be afraid to block people if they’re crossing a line. It’s just so unnecessary to deal with that kind of behavior.

One of the reasons I love your videos so much is because of that relatability factor. When I'm watching you freakout over shows/favourite characters I'm always like "SAME QUEEN", and I like that connection.
