One Tree Hill 9x08 FULL REACTION

Comments

There's a scene in 3x17, after the school shooting, where Nathan tells Haley that if anything should ever happen to him and if Haley ever loses him, he wants her to know how happy she made him. And whenever I watch Haley's monolouge in this episode, I always think of that scene from when they were in high school. Back then she wouldn't hear it, you know, she didn't wanna ever imagine that she would lose him, and now that she actually is in that situation, not knowing if she'll ever get to see the love of her life ever again, both these scenes breaks my heart even more than they did to begin with.

This episode breaks my heart even more than 3x16 did

I just love this season so much! Clays storyline is so good! I feel like this actor is so underrated becuase hes only in a few seasons of OTH!

Frankie

wow. i just googled this and wow thats a new revealtion. thanks for telling us.

Do I even need to talk about Joy in this episode?? She is so ridiculously talented. She cried like 6 different times in this episode and each of them had me emotionally drained. I don't know if it's because we're so used to a bubbly Haley, or because she's my fave, but seeing her this sad just doesn't sit well with me. The fear, desperation, anxiety, regret, sadness, anger, frustration, exhaustion, Joy portrayed every emotion perfectly. I'm so glad the writers gave her a main plot this season because I feel like I've been robbed of Haley's storylines throughout the show and I hate that. Also props to Quinn for being the best big sister in the world right now. That scene of Haley just falling into her arms was heartbreaking. I don't care what anyone says about this season it will ALWAYS be top tier for me, the pacing, the dialogue, the mental health aspect, as well as bringing back old characters for one last hurrah before it all ends. Clay's storyline is amazing, wasn't the biggest fan of the reveal when it first happened because I feel like this is something they could've brought up in season 8, but they managed to work it into the storyline well. Logan is the most adorable kid ever and I love him. I also Love Chase for looking out for Cuck, another kid on this show I ADORE. I don't like Chase beating the dad up just because I know it will have consequences for him. However, the dad deserved it so I ain't mad.

Not sure if anyone knew this but the actress who plays Lauren was actually pregnant and the actor who plays David is the father in real life as well, they are married and have 3 kids now

Yes!! I felt the same way. Especially when you think about how much Nathan supported Haley during her grief last time and now she just can't imagine grieving him. It was so moving and raw and real.

I think that in that moment Chase saw Chuck getting hurt and he just reacted. There was no plan behind it or anything, he just did what he felt he needed to do in that moment and he didn't care about the consequences. So not a smart plan, bc it was no plan at all.

thisismaria27

ugh yes me too!! I just loved that revelation and Clay's reaction was so heartbreaking.

thisismaria27

Oh I've told her about it a bunch of times, but she can't watch it before the show is over bc of potential spoilers ;)

My mom is a psychologist and I remember when that episode aired the first thing I did was ask her if it was actually possible to forget your own child like this. It just seemed so crazy to me. And she confirmed it was indeed totally possible. It's so scary when you think about it, the power of our minds... But they handled the whole thing so well and it just made so much sense! And Robert indeed delivered beautifully. Such a powerful storyline.

Haley's monologue about Nathan and grief in this episode is just so beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. Her speech about never learning anything new about him again and never having another conversation just reminded me so much of Haley at the end of season 7 and the calls she made to her mom's phone and her expressing her fears that she would lose the stories and memories her mom had that she would never learn. Obviously different situations, but the continuity there for how her character processes potential grief felt so accurate for Haley's character.

this episode about clay is my favorite, i love the storyline there and it was perfectly put together with the music

Mira

Could Chase have handled the situation better? Yes, 100%. Confronting the abuser head on is a tough decision because you don’t know how they’ll react and beating the abuser makes it harder for the court to be in favor of a guilty verdict as well since everything is testimonial and is dependent on whether Chuck’s mom and chuck are willing to testify. Chase is also a military officer which means the penalty for him is much worse if the courts favor against him. Dishonorable discharge, prison, etc. and there’s also the chance of the abuser being found not guilty based on the amount of evidence provided which leaves a lose lose situation. That being said I’m almost glad that Chase did beat up Chuck’s dad because it does seem like something Chase would do. He’s protective over those he cares about and he has a strong bond with Chuck. It’s all a double edged sword.

FINALLY!!!! i was waiting for when you would find out that logan is clay’s son that was a perfect reaction

Such a great episode!! I love the Clay & Logan storyline so much! A lot of people seemed to not like it for some reason, but it made sense to me. Logan really is the cutest🥰 Joy’s performance this episode was incredible. You can see her soul leave her body once she got that call. Loved her monologue about the ice cream/ learning new things about Nathan.. Naley is just the most perfect couple ever. Poor Chuck🥺

One last thing I wanted to add, you said we are done with new OTH content after this season, BUT there is a new one tree hill podcast that Hilary, Joy and Sophia are doing and sharing so many BTS things and I’ve been a super fan for 16 years and am learning new stuff. Maybe you can check that podcast out some day!

Nikki S

Oh also you can call Haley in real life Joy, that’s what the other girls from OTH call her so I guess she goes by just Joy! 😊

Nikki S

Yes, such an emotional couple episodes we just watched tonight! Cried a lot, but also laughed a lot. I DIED when you straight faced said “oh, the psychopath” when you saw David. and for people who missed you saying he looks like a psychopath in the first episode he was in were probably confused for a second. I was laughing so hard at that 😂 and YES!! Paul who plays Dan is such an incredible actor along with Joy. Paul deserves so much more credit in the film industry, he’s fantastic.
