SEVENTEEN JUN - Chinese Performances Marathon! | [Sun tier request]

Comments

Sorry for the lacking information, I kind of rushed because of how late I was. The show is Chao Yin Zhan Ji, it was a music competition for Chinese artists (that was clearly sponsored by pepsi as you noticed), it's good but each of the episodes are at least an hour long. The first song was the Chinese version of the Seventeen song 'Thanks,' it didn't have English subs because that video got taken down, but you can check the lyrics for Thanks, they'll be similar. This was actually his first time performing on a stage solo and he was so nervouse! If you watch his hands closely, you can actually see them shake! Yet no sign of it at all in his vocals or his face, I was so impressed! The second song was supposed to be a duet, but Jun's partner Yanan had to leave the show for a while for personal reasons. Jun insisted on having the second mic stand on stage so Yanan could come back whenever he was able, thus the meaningful stare. The third song is a play on words: BB88 = Baby Bye Bye, because apparently 8 sounds like bye. I don't remember the lady's name, she is a well known Chinese singer though. It was funny seeing Jun be all suave with her on stage, because when he originally met her, he was so shy he basically plastered himself to the wall! The other guy is Yanan from the group Pentagon (I'm not sure if he's still with that group or not). Also one of the guys in the waiting room clips is Samuel, a solo Kpop idol who was almost part of Seventeen but left Pledis before debut. He doesn't actually speak Chinese, he's Chinese/Mexican (I think), but spent most of his youth in Korea. So he's fluent in Korean and speaks some English, since they weren't allowed to speak Korean on the show (apparently political reasons) Samuel had some difficulty communicating with the others. But Jun and Minghao took good care of their old maknae. Reflection of Desire was my favorite Jun stage as well! I really wish this was a song I could buy. Those drums are so freaking cool, they sound incredible. Also, the drummer really looked at Jun with so much affection on stage! I didn't really see much behind the scenes footage of these two interacting, but they must have gotten on well, I wonder if they still keep in contact or not. The Last Blossom! Jun set out to remind everyone that he was a child actor! Unfortunately I don't know much about Pentagon, all I know is Yanan, and that E'dawn used to be a member (he left/got kicked out because he and Hyuna are dating, go them!). Jun and Yanan choreographed this as well! All of the performances in this show are made by the artists, they were given songs (or made them), and they choreographed, planned the stages, and even decorated them. (As for Minghao's outfit... you'll see that performance in my next request). Thank you so much for reacting to these performances despite my lack of initial information! I'm so glad you enjoyed them and that you appreciated Jun! Next month I'm gonna request Minghao's stages from this show (it will probably also get copyrighted... sorry), they are worth seeing because Minghao got really ambitious. He did the remixes for several of the songs he used and even dabbled in producing them! Not to mention literally painting one of the stages (I won't be recomming that one, because you need to watch the 'My I' mv first). He also went completely off the rails with experimenting with sound in a few. He focused very rap heavy because he was trying to appeal to another contestant (Jony J, a rapper, one of two that was on the show) to partner with him. So I'm personally not as fond of some of Minghao's stages from the show, just conflicting music tastes. But you might like them, they are well done, and I can't wait for you to see Minghao and Vin's (Zhanan) re-imagining of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star! You couldn't tell from Jun's stages, but literally every round they had the chance to switch partners and most of them did to experiment, but Jun and Yanan stuck to each other like glue. Which was super adorable, Jun waited for Yanan to return, and then they performed together again! I hope you're looking forward to my December requests, I'll get them in soon!
